Dryer was not producing heat due to a broken heating element.
Initially I remove the the back panel on the dryer to locate the heating element, but ,next to impossible to remove from this point due to mounting screw located on the blind side of the support bracket.

In order to get to these screw you will have to remove the top of the dryer which is secured with two 10mm screws in the rear. Then remove the control panel secured with four screws.

then I preceded to remove the front of the dryer secured with four screws on the top four screws around the door opening .I gently pull the front open and disconnect the door switch and lift up to remove. I was know able to gain better access to see the screws holding the element housing and support bracket. After removing the three screws I took a picture of the electrical connections for reference which came in handy for reconnection.
The spade connectors are difficult to remove and a flat blade screwdriver works best. Once the element housing is removed from the unit its just a matter of separating the two halves of the housing to gain access to the element itself.

The element is sandwiched between the two halves of the housing and is a bit tricky to reinstall.
It’s best to position the element in the upper portion of the split housing using the four securing screws and then align with the lower half . You then feed the element leads thru the receptacle and bend the securing tabs down and you are ready to reverse the take down procedure..

How do i replace the heating element? My dryer does not produce heat and i measured both thermostat and the heating element. Both thermostat read close/continuity & the heating element was open circuit. Thanks, jose

Our front load dryer does not throw any heat, the drum runs and all lights come on just no heat
For model number YIED7200TW

Hello Michelle, thank you for writing. This is most likely due to either a faulty Heating Element, part number PS11741835, or Thermistor, part number PS11741828 for your dryer. Here is a link to some information on our website for testing the dryer's Heating Element: https://www.partselect.ca/Dryer+test-heating-element+repair.htm. Good luck with your repair!

I replaced my heating element about 1 year ago and it burned out again. Might i need a new thermostat as well?

Hi Lindsay, thank you for your question. Looking at your model information there are a few parts that you should take out and test to see which one is giving you the issue. The first parts to check in this case would be all of your thermostats and thermal fuses. You can test those parts with a multi meter and they should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. If those parts are fine, you should then go on to testing your heating element as well. You can also test that with a multi meter and it should be reading between 0 - 50 ohms. Something else you should also check would be your filter and ducts. Make sure there is absolutely no blockage that would restrict air flow in your appliance. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My dryer will not cut off at the end of the cycle. It has heat. Ive done some research online and it sounds like it may be either the timer of the heating element? Can you confirm before i buy parts
For model number MDE6700AYW
PartSelect logo
Hello Adam, Thank you for your question. Our sources suggest replacing the control timer under part PS11741826 before the heating element, since the element would only be the sources of heat with no bearing to the actual cycle control of the dryer. We hope this helps.

Dryer turns on spins, the lights work, the sensor light all in a row have never seemed to work properly. There is no heat circulating at all, just air.
For model number NED7200TW

Hello Ramon, Thank you for the question. I would first suggest testing the Thermistor, PartSelect Number PS11741828. The thermistor will not read continuity but will read resistance. You can also test the all the thermostats and the heating element with a multimeter to determine which is at fault. They should show continuity. Hope this helps!
