Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. This lid hinge pin allows a washing machine lid to pivot open and closed properly. The hinge pin may need to be replaced if the lid will not open or will not close. The part is white and made of plastic. This lid hinge pin is just over an inch long, is sold individually, and does not include the mounting screw (consider ordering mounting screw if it rusted or stripped). It is recommended to check the opposite lid hinge pin before ordering because hinges may wear at the same rate. Be sure to not tighten the mounting screw to pin too tightly to avoid breaking the new part.

Just what I needed, but too expensive
I liked the fact that I could get a replacement hinge pin for my washing machine but the part was over $10 for a small piece of plastic and the shipping was close to $8 for something that weighed less than an ounce. I also had to reduce the diameter of the pin by using a little sandpaper as the new pin was slightly bigger therefore making it stiff to operate and I didn't want to stress it every time I opened the lid. It cost me close to $20, I figured cheaper than a repair man but had a hard time finding value in the overall cost as compared to what you actually got. I did like the video tutorial on how to replace the part, very helpful and was a snap to install.

lid hinge pin broke
I followed your video instructions. Very good video.
I used the putty knife to release the spring clips on the machine lid. They are about 3" in from the side of the machine. Then I lifted the top of the washer up holding the lid in place. I then used a screw driver (torx) to remove the hinge from the bottom of the washer top. The lid should come right off. Then I the removed the broken hin
... Read morege pins from the back of the lid with a screwdriver and replaced with the new parts. There is a little tab that the pin fits in the lid to assure you have the pin installed correctly. Then I slid the hinge back on the pin and reversed the process reinstalling the hinges and closing the top of the machine over the spring clips and your done. Very easy repair that I completed in less than 15 minutes.

Broken lid hinge pins
I raised the top of the washing machine per video instructions, removed the screws, replaced broken hinges with the new ones. It was simple as that.

Lid Hinge Pin had broken
I replaced both the pin and the hinge. The old screws did not fit these parts nor did either of the parts fit the other part although they were almost identical. Screws should be included with the parts as these are supposed to be replacements. Do not try to order only a pin or a hinge without the other. Delivery was very quick.
I watched the video first. It was correct except for the tool was not a phillips screwdriver, but a torx drive. Rounding up the tools took the longest. Everything else was just like in the video.

Broken lid hinge pin
It took two of us to move aqnd hold the tub so we could install the hinge. I would not say it was easy to accomplish this.
I used a flat screw driver to push in on the releases so I could raise the top of the machine. I then used a torx tool to remove both parts of the hinge, and then used a #2 phillips screw driver, on the new screws I'd also ordered, to re-attach both of the hinge parts. Every thing went just as anticipated.

Hinge pin and hinge do they come as single or pair per order?

Washer will fill and spin but will not advance. Will not agitate even when dial is moved to agitate. Stops spinning when door is raised so I'm guessing switch is ok. Help please.
