Lid Hinge Specifications

The lid hinge on your washer is connected to the lid and allows it to open and close. If you find you cannot open or close the lid to your washing machine properly, you may need to replace the lid hinge. This lid hinge is an inch and a half long, all white in color, and it is made entirely of plastic. To complete this repair, you will need a Phillips screwdriver and a putty knife to remove the top of the washer, in order to access the screws that hold the lid hinge in place. Be sure to disconnect the power to the washing machine before beginning this repair.

The top load cover would come off in your hand and it was so loose that the lid cover salety switch would not work

First I got everything I needed, unplugged the washer. Using the puddy knife I freed the top of the washer by inserting the knife about four inches from each side on front. Lid Hinge Pin had broken

I replaced both the pin and the hinge. The old screws did not fit these parts nor did either of the parts fit the other part although they were almost identical. Screws should be included with the parts as these are supposed to be replacements. Do not try to order only a pin or a hinge without the other. Delivery was very quick.

Broken lid hinge pin

It took two of us to move aqnd hold the tub so we could install the hinge. I would not say it was easy to accomplish this.

One of the plastic hinge pins brroke

I used a flat screw driver to push in on the releases so I could raise the top of the machine. I then used a torx tool to remove both parts of the hinge, and then used a #2 phillips screw driver, on the new screws I'd also ordered, to re-attach both of the hinge parts. Every thing went just as anticipated.

Washer lid hinge broken

I found the parts that needed replaced on the Parts Select web sight.I clicked on see install video icon for replacement of the parts that needed replaced and that made the repair real easy.

hinge pin broke

push the washer tub as far as you can and use a long screwdriver to take hinge off,do the same for other side. Lid will then be removed for access to hinge pin,remove hinge pin and reverse process. Very easy repair. Very fast delivery from PartSelect.
