Dryer stopped heating. All else appears ok. Checked fuses limit th'st, etc all red "0" ohms, and heater is not open. Please advise.

Hi Philip,
Thank you for your question. I would suggest testing your door switch as well. It could be that it is reading that the appliance door is open and so it will not start the heater. If that part also checks out, it may either be your wiring or your timer. Good luck with your repair.

Replaced timer with new one but the timer does not advance.
For model number MDE7600AYW
Hi John, thank you for your question. You might have to take a look at your door switch for being the issue. However there are a few other parts that you should take out and test to see which one is giving you the issue. The first parts to check in this case would be all of your thermostats and thermal fuses. You can test those parts with a multi meter and they should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. If those parts are fine, you should then go on to testing your heating element as well. You can also test that with a multi meter and it should be reading between 0 - 50 ohms. Something else you should also check would be your filter and ducts. Make sure there is absolutely no blockage that would restrict air flow in your appliance. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Timer assembly would not advance
Removed old timer assembly, put the new one next to it and as I disconnected one wire from the old part, I connected it to the new part, that way I was able to connect each wire to the right place. It was very easy.
Appliance dealer stated that usually timers did not go out and thermostats were most likely . Tried all and called repairman that did not show. Removed cover found burned gear in timer ordered. The part is easy to replace just change wires one at a time or take a digital pic of the wires.

The dryer would not shut off. The timer would not advance,
I replaced the timer and timer dial skirt which was very easy to repair. The dryer would not shut off and the timer would not advance. I could manually use a plier to move the timer and it would shut off then. I replaced the timer and it works well now.
Dryer timer dial was cracked and thus would not turn the timer pivot.
Ordered the three pieces of the dryer dial and replaced the old dial with the new one.

Dryer Wouldn't Shut Off.
Had the dubious distindtion of having two switches (start switch & the timer) go bad within 3 months of each other. The start switch has been previously discussed.
The access plate to the controls is secured be 3 phillips head screws and 2 nut-driver bolts.
The switch itself is secured from the front of the machine be two phillips head screws, located underneath the knob which is easily pulled off.
Just replace the wires one-by-one using needle nose pliers on the clips . A real no-brainer.

Dryer wouldn't stop automatically
Removed the knob. Removed back panel. Removed the timer (2 screws). Pulled off wires and put them on the exact same spot on new timer. Attached new timer and replaced panel. Dried my cloths to perfection! (While I took a nap)

Timer not functioning / cycling properly.
Repair process was extremely simple plus, partselect.com has a video to confirm. Movingbthe dryer took longer than the actual repair.

Works great
It took me awhile to realize my dryer timer is accessed from the back of the appliance. After I realized that it was just a matter of plugging the wires into the new timer.

Dryer timer
It worked great! My dryer is heating and it was super easy to install. A local appliance repairman quoted me $411 to replace timer and I fixed it for $120!
