The bake element in your oven is the part that provides heat when cooking. If your oven is too hot, or not hot enough, or does not heat evenly, you may need to replace the bake element. This part is 2600 Watts and 240 Volts. It is a closed hinged style bake element which is 15-3/4 inches long and 16-5/8 inches wide. The terminal depth is three inches and they are 1-3/4 inches apart. This part is made of metal and is black in color. Be sure to disconnect power to the oven before completing this repair.

oven bake heater was bad. 8" burner socket went bad from loose connection burner connection got ruined.
two Phillips head screws hold the oven unit in. It culls out and the wires just disconnect. Reinstall in reverse and test.. The burner socket I cut the wires from the old socket and splice the new pigtails onto the existing wires and install the socket. The instructions in the package are good for people that aren't used to doing repairs.
Original bake element had open circuited, fortunately the day after Thanksgiving and not on Thanksgiving
Removed the two Philips head screws that attach the element to the back wall of the oven. Pulled off the two wire terminals from the spades on the back of the element. Pushed the two wire terminals onto the spades on the back of the new element. Noticed that one was not tight, so disconnected, squeezed down the wire terminal, and reconnected. Inserted the two screws that attach the element to the back wall of the oven. Element works fine.

Oven bake element
Open oven door. Still power to the wall, but all Knobs in "OFF" position. two phillips screws, pull old element back, and disconnect both leads. Put the leads on the new element and reinsert with two mounting screws. Simple.

unit burned out
grandson removed the two screws holding in the burned out unit and removed the two wires, installed them into the new unit and put the prongs into place. very easy and certainly very economic. delivery was quick and postage was reasonable. Thank you.

Oven would not reach selected temperature
First, shut off the power at the breaker panel. Next, I simply unscrewed the screws holding in each element, disconnected the leads, reconnected the leads to the new elements, positioned each element & reinserted the screws. A suggestion: Before loosening the screws, a light shot of PB Blaster or similar might help.
Removed old element, replaced new element. Unfortunately, this didn't fix the problem. It was the temperature sensor. But now I have a new bake element, though!

Oven Heating element had a melt down and small explosion
Remove racks, extract two phillips head screws, pull out element, unattached wires, install new element, reverse procedure to complete installation. (Note: With the racks and element out, great time to clean oven.)

Bake Element burned out
Turn off the oven circuit breaker. Remove 2 screws that hold the element in place. Carefully pull element out, about 3 inches and remove 2 attached wires by holding the element and pulling the wire clips off of the old element. Slide wire clips onto the new element and put the screws back in.

Thank you for your inquiry. There is a repair story that a customer has shared with us that help you. "First I cut off the power to the stove and double-checked to make sure no current was flowing to the unit. There were two screws attaching the bake element plate to the oven. I unscrewed the two screws and carefully pulled the bake element away from the oven exposing the contact wires. I carefully loosened the wire contacts from the bake element, slid the bake element off the contacts and then slid the new bake element onto the wire contacts. I gently clamped the contacts onto the bake element, pushed the wires back into the back of the oven and screwed back the bake element plate onto the interior of the oven. I turned on the power to test my work and I was done." I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Oven in bake mode. Seems to be burning everything. Was baking cookies, and place the cookies in the oven. Directions said bake for 10 to 12 minutes, and in 4 to 5 minutes they were black. Why is this doing this?

Oven stop working and would not heat. Turn off power and then turn on again. The buttons on the panel will not work seems to in a jam mood following a beeping sound. Clear turn off the power once again and try to turn on the oven all buttons work but will go straight to be on with no heat. Usually the pre-heat button will buzz follow by the buzzing sound to let you know the oven is ready. Now i don’t have any heat to it. What could be the problem? I replaced the top elements before could it be the bottom is bad? Never replace it before. Thanks for your help.

Hi Tiana, thank you for contacting us. We have found that your oven comes with two types of bake element, part numbers PS11740695, and PS11740747. Both versions of the part will work, but part number PS11740695 uses more current coming into the stove. Most standard electric ovens use 240 volts to operate the heating elements. Hope this helps!
