Unplug the washing machine. Removed the three screws that held the control panel on the top of the washer. The panel then rotated forward exposing the timer control. Timer was sticking on rinse
The person who wrote in on how he did his repair on the timer was perfect. I would have replaced the time on my own but I would have taken longer. Machine stopped spinning the water out after wash cycle. The timer would advance, but the original wash water was still in tub at the end of the cycle.
The repair was super easy and fast. I removed the back of the control panel with screwdrivers (3 flat head screws, 3 phillips head screws). Then I removed the front of the knob from the timer by removing the plastic center cover cap, plactic inner clip and lifting out the inner ring. The timer was secured by only one screw, which I remove
... Read mored. The wiring assembly was easy to unplug. Then I popped out the timer by sliding it to the left to clear the clips. I replaced the old timer with the new one, secured the single screw, plugged the wire assembly in, reseated the timer knob on front and replaced the control panel cover. The problem was solved and the machine works like new.

The timer on my Maytag washer was broke
I just removed the screws on the back of the control panel. There was one 1/4 head screw holding the timer in place. I removed that and slid the unit to the right. I removed the connection module. Then I popped the connector on the new unit and slid it back in and bolted it back in. I had to remove the face of the dial on the front a

Washer would not finish washing even though the timer was done. Did that for a weel or so then finally quit.
Washer was full of water when it finally quit so I had to remove the front panels first so I could manuver the top to get to the back of the control panel. Remove the five screws from the back of the control panel. Pop off the cover on the timer knob. Pull the button from the center of the knob once the cover is off . Remove knob. Inside

washer would not finish cycle
replaced timer, be careful not to try to pull the outer knob off without prying out the center of it and then removing the retainer.Then you can remove the 3 piece adjusment knob that sets your washing cycles. If you do not remove it this way you will damage the timer.

My washer is doing the same as in the comments section, doesn't go through all the cycles ( part# 27001113 timer) although i can get to the spin cycle by messing with the control knob. Just want to make sure this is the part i need. I also saw another replacement part # 27001114 called a 4 position rotary switch. Just want to insure I'm purchasing the right part.

Hi Bob,
Thank you for your question. Most of the time when you are having advancing problems with your timer, it is the timer that is the issue. Honestly because you have to mess with your timer knob I would lean more to the timer being the issue and not any of the other parts. However you could also take a quick look at your lid switch. I doubt it would be your rotary start switch because those parts do not control the timing of when your cycles change. You could check those with a multi meter as well though just to cover all of your bases. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

How do you remove the timer?

Hello Jack, thank you for your question. The back panel behind the controls can be removed and the timer can be accessed from there. There will be wire connectors that will have to be removed and attached to the new timer and then the screws holding the timer into place can be removed and the new timer reinstalled.
