Hello Thomas, Thank you for contacting us.When you are having temperature problems in your fridge, there are a few parts that could cause the issue. You can use a multi meter to test most of the parts. Make sure you cut power to your appliance before doing any repairs or tests. First you should test your defrost thermostat. Place the thermostat in ice cold water for 2-3 minutes after removing it from your appliance. It should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. Another part to check would be your defrost heater. Remove it from the appliance. It should be reading anywhere between 0 - 50 ohms to be working. You could check your temperature sensor. To find the correct reading for this part you will have to refer to your tech sheet that comes with your appliance. You can usually find this tech sheet behind the bottom grille of your fridge on either the right or left side. These are the most common parts that cause this issue in your appliance. So it is suggested you check them first. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My freezer gradually stops working and then my refrigerator gets very warm. Then suddenly everything worked again with fridge gradually getting too cold and then stable again. Now the freezer is gradually losing temp.

Hello I, Thank you for the question. This could indicate a faulty Defrost Thermostat. We suggest testing the Thermostat with a Multimeter. The best way to do this is to remove the thermostat from the refrigerator so you can control the temperature of the sensor. You can let the sensor warm up to room temperature. With the sensor warmed up to room temperature the sensor should read approximately 6.2K Ohms at 68°F. With the thermistor submerged is a glass full of ice water, the sensor should be very close to 32°F which should read approximately 16.3K Ohms. If the values that you are getting are far off from these readings, then the sensor is bad and should be replaced. We hope this helps!

Ice maker does not make ice, the water dispenses and the motor turns the tray but no water in the ice maker. What could be the possible problem?
For model number MFI2569VEW

Hello Jack, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the Dual Water Valve, PartSelect Number PS2069865. The water inlet valve is a solenoid-operated switch that, when activated, releases water from the supply line to the water valve and into the compact icemaker mold. Hope this helps!

Water is leaking from the ice maker itself. It still makes ice, but after awhile, because of the dripping water, all of the ice freezes together, eventually freezing the ice maker itself
For model number WRS325FDAM02

Hello Joseph, thank you for the question. According to our research, we would recommend checking the water valve tube that it is properly aligned. If the issue still occurs, you may need to check if the fill cup, part number PS3654761, is connected properly. We hope this helps!

ice maker makes & dispenses cubes & big chunks freeze together in ice maker
For model number MSD2651HEW
PartSelect logo
Hi Dot, Thank you for your question. If ice in the ice bin is freezing into a large chunk, warm air is getting inside the refrigerator. This may be caused by leaving the door open too long, or the door is not sealing correctly. The ice will melt slightly and when it cools the the ice will stick together. Make sure that you are not leaving the door open too long and check the door gasket to make sure it is sealing correctly. We hope this helps!

When it is hot outside, the fridge and freezer works fabulously. When it gets cold outside, the freezer does not keep things frozen regularly and the fridge doesn't seem to stay as cold either. I find this interesting as one wouldn't think the outside temp would have anything to do with the inside. Is there a temperature gauge that changes how each section cools with relation to the temp outside of the fridge/freezer?Thanks. kirsten g.

Hi Kristen, your fridge/freezer may not work correctly if used in too low room temperatures. That is most likely what is happening, there is not much you can do but raise the temperature of the room the fridge is in. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!
