What should the ohm reading bo on a ps11740332 thermistor
For model number Kuic18pnts1

Hi Jim,
That is a great question. At room temperature the resistance should be 10,200 to 12,600 ohms resistance. To get a more accurate reading you will need to place the thermistor in ice water for approximately 5 minutes. At 32 degrees Fahrenheit, the reading should be 30,200 to 37,000 ohms resistance and at 0 degrees Fahrenheit the reading should be 81,000 to 99,000 ohms resistance. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Notice ice was low, ice was melting and unit seemed hot. Cleaned it, it made a full bin of ice. 2 days later, ice low and melting, unit seemed hot. Water tank is full and cold, pump is running but no ice. Can’t figure it out, any suggestions? Could it be going into clean mode all my itself?
For model number KUIA15PRLS4

Hello Gary, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the Evaporator Thermistor, PartSelect Number PS11740333. You can test it with a Multi Meter, The meter should read 9.4K Ohms at 75 degrees and 32.6K ohms when submerged in ice water. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!

The ice maker will not stop making ice. I am guessing that the bin thermostat is the issue. I tried testing for ohms, but i am not sure i did so correctly. Also the i have the sensor removed. The ice maker is not making ice at all now. I assume the sensor has to be plugged in? I am willing to order the part. I just want to make sure that i need it.Thanks
For model number KUIC18NNTS3

Hi John, the bail arm is keeping the switch inside the icemaker closed. Yes the sensor would have to be plugged in for the icemaker to work. Try removing some ice from the bucket so the arm is all the way down. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!

Ice maker overfilling with ice and would not stop production when full.
Very easy to replace. Down load the Manual online for a completely operating manual. Thermistor can be tested with an Ohm Meter. Proper values are listed in operating manual.
