Ice auger motor would hum. Would not turn. So Refrigerator would produce ice, but not discharge cube or crushed ice.
1) 2 screws under ice maker inside. Remove them and the steel shaft will pull right out. Close the door and let fridge run.
2) There is 'extend tray' on the outside. Remove it. There is only a plastic tab that needs to be lifted for removal.
3) Behind tray are 2 screws. Remove them then lift slightly and remove whole front assembly. There will be 1 3 wire quick disconnect to remove.
4) there is a quick disconnect on bottom of ice motor...remove
5) there are 4 screws that hold motor in..remove and you are half done.
6) just re-assemble

Piece of cake...YOU CAN DO IT!

Refrigerator not dispensing ice
Remove ved shelf to gain access to small panel on inside of freezer door just above shelf. Removed two screws in panel using 1/4 inch nut driver. Disconnected old auger motor and removed 4 screws holding it in place. Removed old motor from shaft and replaced with new one. Reconnected new motor with screws from old motor. Replaced panel and shelf. Refrigerator now dispensing ice again. Very simple fix and cheaper than repairmen coming out.

Light and fan buttons not working
The buttons are easy to access. Disconnect the power to the oven then just remove the center grill on top of the microwave then remove the screw attaching the left side grill and remove the grill this will allow access to the upper screw holding the left side panel then open the oven door and use a long slender Torx driver to remove the two screws in the side of the panel then remove the screw holding the left side lamp cover and remove the cover and then remove the left side air intake screen this will allow access to the wiring to the switches and the connector that must be disconnected to allow removal of the side panel, the connector has a small tab that must be depressed to separate the connector, be certain to disconnect the wiring before attempting to remove the side panel as the wiring is too short to allow removal of the side panel while the wiring is connected, after the wiring is disconnected the side panel can be pulled away from the oven it is simply clipped in place and will be removed by pulling it straight toward you after the panel is removed two screws hold the switch circuit board to the side panel, the buttons are part of a fragile plastic tree that is sandwiched between the side panel and the circuit board use care when installing the replacement buttons and circuit board my replacement buttons needed to be reformed by slight hand pressure to make them fit properly. To reassemble just follow the same steps in reverse order. This is a simple operation that can be done in about an hour.

ice auger moter
this is the 2006 model.remove the bottom tray to access the two screws that hold the cover on then remove the screws.the cover will slide out but is kinda tight cause of the door handle but will come out without removing the handle.then open the door and turn off the ice maker and remove the ice bin.there are two bolts to remove with a 1/4 inch nut driver to remove the plastic piece. you can then remove a metal piece and spring that sits on the drive shaft. i used a pair of needle nose pliers to remove the drive shaft cause my fingers were too big to fit in the hole.close the door and go back to the panel.there is a cardboard protector that you lift up to expose the motor.the motor sits on a plastic motor mount with two bolts you can remove with a 1/4 inch nut driver. it slides out and you can unplug the wire clip. remove the motor. remove the four bolts that hold the motor to the motor mount then mount the new motorthen put it all back together. it might be a good idea to unplug the fridge before this process. i didnt and when i tested the the ice and water, the water would not shut off. i had to open the door to get the water to shut off then push and hold the reset button to get it to work properly.

Was not dispensing ice
PLEASE UNPLUG REFRIGERATOR FIRST. Through You Tube, removed the ice door parts and carefully replaced all the components with use of a screw driver. Cover detaches from the bottom and move upward when loose. May have silicone around cover. Once complete attach cover back on. The inside of the freezer door right under the ice container you need to remove the guard and looking up under it you will see the cover with 2 screws, remove and ice auger drive motor will be exposed. carefully drop down and unplug electrical feed band and replace with the new one and push up again, screw back cover and done. IT IS WORKING BEAUTIFULLY!!

Ice Dispenser Motor Stopped
My Kitchen-Aid ice dispenser had stopped working. I ordered parts and began the repair as soon as the parts arrived. Removed front cover of the ice dispensing station. Two screws at the bottom of the faceplate, under the tray section. Opened the freezer door and removed the ice bucket. Under it I found the connecting drive shaft that links to the auger inside the bucket. Two screws were easily removed and the parts lifted out. The drive shaft was now exposed and could be lifted straight up and out. Back to the front of the door. Now I got to work on the motor itself. It was under a piece of cardstock that protects the area from accidental electrical contact. The motor is held on with 4 screws. The nut driver removed them easily. The new motor was an exact replacement. I substituted the old motor with the new one. At this point I dropped in the new drive shaft from above, inside the door, and made sure it mated properly to the auger motor. Then I re-aligned the holes of the motor bracket, replaced the screws, redressed the wires in the area and put the face plate back on the front of the freezer door. Put the ice bucket back in place, and it worked. Took about 20 minutes.
Saved myself a ton of money having a serviceman come out.

ice dispensor didn't work
removed front cover to the ice maker. checked the electric motor to if it was frozen. Moved it back and forth. Still didn't work. Removed electric motor by removing four screws. Found that electric motor would work when laying on its side but not when correct position. Guessed it was a short in the motor but the motor is completely sealed so simply replaced the electric motor. Removing and replacing the motor took less than15 minutes. Motor and seals were less than $100.00

How does i access the ice auger motor? Some youtube video show easy access by remove 2 screws under the auger and then 4 screws that hold auger but this model does not appear to have that easy access.

Hello, my ice dispenser stopped working last week, the button works, and the dispenser door opens and the water dispenser works but the auger stopped turning and i do not hear the motor making any noise and the ice does not come out. Could this be the motor? I even took out the tray and tried it without any ice in the tray and it still will not turn.

Hello Donald, thank you for your question. This motor rotates the auger. When the auger rotates, it pushes ice out of the bin, through a chute to the user. If the auger is not moving, and there is no sound from the motor you should replace the auger motor. The motor for your specific model number KSRS25RSBT01, is part number PS11739848 which can be found on our site. I hope this helps!

Motor starts to dispense ice, then stops. Then won't try for several minutes, then same result. Is it the auger motor that's bad?
For model number GD5NVAXSA00
PartSelect logo
Hi Steve, Thank you for the great question, Looking through our list of symptoms and repair help it seems the most common part to be replaced to fix the issue is the Ice Auger Drive Motor PS11739848. If you are able to take the bin apart and see that there is no physical damage to the parts inside the motor may need to be replaced. Hope this helps!

Is the auger motor the part i would most likely need if no ice is being made and when i push the ice dispense button i hear a click but the motor doesn't turn at all.
For model number GS6NBEXRL01
PartSelect logo
Hello Michael, thank you for contacting us. The auger/motor pushes the ice out of the bin to be dispensed or crushed and dispensed. The click noise is the ice door opening but no ice comes out since the auger isn't turning. The motor would need to be replaced. Now if no ice is being made, such as, no water getting to the ice maker, that could be an issue with the water inlet valve. If the ice maker is getting water but not ejecting into the ice bin that would be an issue with the ice maker motor. Hope this helps!

For model number GS6NBEXRS00

Hello Hugh, Thank you for your inquiry. It does sound like the ice auger drive motor. To test it, try removing the ice bin and pressing the dispenser lever to see if the auger will turn. If it doesn't, then replace the auger motor. Hope this helps!

Hello. Our 17 year old freezer stopped dispensing ice and the part in the bucket isn’t turning. However we do hear the motor running. I am unable to order a replacement entire bucket part but can get a new motor. Would getting a new motor fix the rotation that is failing even though the current motor is making a noise and seems to be working? I can’t figure out why else it won’t work.

Hi Amy, thank you for contacting us. According to our research, the issue seems to be caused by a weak auger drive motor. We recommend checking the auger drive motor, part number PS11739848, to fix this issue. We hope this solves your problem!

It makes ice, but the ice does not dispense through the chute. It sits behind the chute door that is not opened. If you manually reach in, and open the door, all of the ice that was waiting dispenses. Is this fixed by the auger motor?
For model number GD5NVAXSY01
PartSelect logo
Hi Gina, Thank you for the question. If the ice is making it to the door then the auger motor would be fine, the issue would be the door not opening. First you can check to make sure the Chute Door is not warped and causing it to get "stuck". If the door is fine try and listen for the Ice Dispenser Door Motor,PartSelect Number PS11749796 to come on when the try to dispense the ice. If the motor is not coming on it is defective and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps!
