We need to replace the light bulbs in the top of the refrigerator but don't know how to remove the light lens.. can you possibly tell me how to go about removing it? thank you very much.

I have to replace the bulb in the top part of my Whirlpool refrigerator. I bought a new bulb, which said i might have to also replace the socket. The new bulb is slightly different from the old one. But i cannot remove the old socket because even after i removed the clear plastic cover, there was another piece i could not remove to remove the old socket. I

What is the trick to releasing the light lens/cover WP2223506? I press on the clear plastic round "button" and try to slide the whole lens cover to the rear of the fridge, but It won't release.

Hello Eric, Thank you for your inquiry. You will need to use a small screwdriver and pry the lens cover off from the rear first. This will seem like you may break it but it has been installed by the manufacturer tightly and will take some force to remove it. Good luck with your repair.
