Light lense tabs broken off . Lense was too close to light bulb which melted lense.
Removed old lense and spapped new one in place. This will break again because lense is to short and the tabs holding it into the sides of the refrigerator are barely long enough.

Fridge door would not close properly and therefore was letting cold air out and wasting energy
Removed lower door hinge and allowed door to drop down and off of upper hinge. Replaced cams on both hinge and on bottom of door. Reinstalled door. Also installed light cover that had broken years ago, but this is a pop-in item and no-brainer.
Unplug dryer. Remove lower and upper front panels [remove wires from upper right door switch]. Lift up on belt idle pulley and take belt off pulley/motor. Remove front bulkhead and dryer lint/vent ducting. Note position on drum and remove belt. Unbolt top panel front 2 screws to allow room to remove drum. Remove drum. Take lock rings
... Read more off drum support rollers and remove old rollers. Clean roller shafts and apply hi-temp grease [I used ultra hi temp brake grease-ceramic based-small packet can be purchase fm auto parts store]. Re-install new support rollers and lock rings. Re-install drum and slide belt back into position. Remove and replace felt pads and glides into inside of front bulkhead. Reinstall front bulkhead and top panel [connect door switch wires]. Install belt around idle tension pulley. Re-install lower panel. All parts fit perfectly and delivered quickly. Belt had just been replaced previously.
The piece that covered the light at the back of the fridge burnt a hole in the cover.
First I removed the cover...and then I slid the new piece in. It looks great and so easy a caveman could do it...lol

Is there a replacement part to secure the bulb and socket to the back of the refrigerator? The light slipped out of place and melted the plastic light shield as well as part of the plastic back liner. I have pushed the socket back in place but I am afraid it will slip again. Fortunately the light switch works and turns the light off when the door is closed. Can I glue the socket in place? I had a fire inside a Kenmore I owned in the late 1980's. That time the switch failed and the only thing that prevented a house fire was the door seal. If that seal had failed and the fire had gotten oxygen, my house would have burned down because we were away.

Hi Sharon,
Thank you for your question. There is a light socket kit that you may purchase for your model. The part number listed under your model number for the light socket kit is PS371236. The light socket in your refrigerator houses the light bulb and connects it to the power source. If your refrigerator light is not coming on when you open the door, you may need to replace the light socket. Before you replace the light socket, be sure that your light bulb is in working condition, as this may solve the same problem. This light socket kit comes with 2 wire connectors, a light shield, and the new socket. The wire connectors that come with this kit are included so your new socket can replace a variety of old ones. If this light socket is different than your original, you will need to use the connectors to make it fit your refrigerator. Be sure to follow the instructions provided, so this part will fit your refrigerator properly. There is also a video listed with the light socket kit on our website that you may reference for information on how to install it. Here is a link to the video, https://www.partselect.com/PS371236-Whirlpool-4387478-Light-Socket-Kit.htm?SourceCode=4&SearchTerm=10658567891&ModelNum=10658567891. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
