Timer and timer knob were broken.
Watched video from on YouTube. Disasembled dryer by removing cap from timer knob. Pulling timer knob off the shaft. Removed three # 15 torx screws from the top of the dryer. Top panel rolled forward. Dryer Timer has broken gears.
My dryer timer's internal gears were broken. Timer Cap also was broken. I opened the front face plate by removing the three screws on top and disconnecting the wiring harness. Remove the timer control knob cap with a small flat head screw driver on either side of the cap, between the cap and the rubber ring (this took a while to figure out, but it's easy once you do) then remove the knob. The two parts purchased were the corrects parts needed to do the job. (There's always a first time for everything!) When the plastic timer knob broke away from the timer stem, it left the silver timer cap's locking pin embedded in the timer stem. I could not remove the broken remains of the knob while the broken off pin was still in pla
... Read morece. And it was impossible to grip the pin with pliers or tweezers without damaging the timer stem. As a solution I grabbed my whole-house vacuum cleaner hose and sucked the broken pin out of the timer stem. Total time of repair was about 20 minutes not including the two-hour brainstorming time-out that led me to the vacuum cleaner solution.
Timer Knob was broken so the knob would not stay on
I removed the silver cap and then removed the knob itself. I replaced the knob with the new part and also the silver cap with the part. The job was complete.

Dryer pull knob to start has to be jiggled to get started.

My washer does not start. When I turn the knob and pull to start it, there is no action. When I move the knob to the spin position, the spinner moves and complete its cycle. Can you please help to identify the problem. Thanks.
