The timer on our machine went out- the machine would not agitate during wash cycles.
First, I removed the timer knob and two screws that hold the timer in place behind the knob. Next, I unscrewed the 5 screws that hold the metal back to the control panel and removed the metal back. Making sure the washer was unplugged, I unplugged the block of wiring that attaches to the side of the timer, and the green ground wire, bei

My Maytag washing machine will rinse and spin in easy care & delicate but not in regular do you think it is the weight of the water and clothes in regular or do you think the timer is going out? I can also move the knob from regular to the other two cycles and the same load will rinse and spin. I hear the timer working in all three cycles. Thanks for your time. Mike haynes

Hi Mike,
Thank you for your question. If the rinse is not working in the regular cycle, but works in the other cycles, then the timer is the issue and you will need to replace it. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
