Door locked light did not come on and did not have 120 VAC across the Wax Motor. Also the Wax Motor did not extend out to make contact with the Door Lock, Spin Enable Switch. ... Read moreect the problem. Checked for power and traced loss of power back to the Control Board where resistor R11 was found to be burnt out. Replaced Resistor with new Carbon Film unit, rating of 3.9 K-ohms, 1/4 W and 5%. As a prcaution, replace the Triac (manufactue part number NTE5657), component identified as Q6, rating of 0.8 Amp, 600 VAC. Semiconductor parts must be obtained from somewhere other than Parts Select (unable to find in the small town I live in, I located on the internet at Mouser.com). Unit works great now.
This is a Washer/Dryer stack unit. Had trouble with the power light not going off automatically. Had to press the power on/off switch to get it to turn off and allow the door to open. Finally smelled an electrical odor and found that the mother board (located in the upper right front part of the dryer) had a burned resistor (R-11) When this happens, it requires replacing the wax motor and the mother board. This corrected the problem. If you do have problems with the door lock, I would suggest replacing the wax motor as soon as possible. If the wax motor isn't replaced it may burn the new mother board. If I had replaced the wax motor initially, I doubt if the mother board resistor would have burned. Works fine now.

Thanks for your question. You will want to test the wax motor switch, the internal unbalance switch, and the door lock switch with a multimeter to see if they have continuity. If they do not have electrical continuity, replace them. It would also be a good idea to check the belt and the motor as well.

About the wax motor, my Neptune needs one specified 13 K, I can only get one with 10 K specified or 40 k. In Whirlpool branding instead of Maytag. Could you please tell me if it could work?

My Neptune washer does not spin after rinses 1,2 and 3. However, it does spin after the wash and 4th rinse cycles. The wax motor works (it was replaced under warranty) and there are no burn spots on the control boards. What else needs checking?

Thank you for your question. If the washer is not spinning, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the door lock/spin enable switch, the drive belt, the internal imbalance switch, the motor and control board, the remote style pump with motor, the motor control assembly and the electronic control board.
