No ice delivery: - how do i determine if it is the motor or the solenoid; the auger does move by hand but i hear no noise when i try the dispenser. Also the water does not dispense but the ice maker does make ice. Water valve solenoid? 2-problems, thank you

Ice maker makes ice infrequently and solid ice forms under the cylinder and in the shallow trough in the ice container. It dispenses ice when the solid ice under the cylinder is not binding and the water dispenser seem to be working fine. What parts might need to be replace to fix these ice maker problems. Thanks, John
For model number GD25DFXFW02
Hello John, Thank you for asking. We suggest testing the Water Inlet Valve. Set your multitester to the R X 1 ohms setting to test for continuity. Place each of the multitester's leads on a terminal. Your multitester should display a reading between 200 and 500 ohms. Closely examine your water inlet valve. The exact ohm resistance rating you should test for may be marked on the valve. We hope this helps!

Was not dispensing ice, motor shaft had broken
Once the part arrived it would have been an extremely simple install, however the part was shipped defective. Only 1 of the six potential mounting holes had been tapped. Leaving 5 without threading whatsoever. After demanding a refund I was told I would have to pay for shipping again to send it back and it would talk 7 to 20 weeks ........ yes you read that correctly. For my return to be processed and I could be issued my refund. Long story short I tapped the holes myself and was then able to install. Everything works but I will never buy ANYTHING from this website again.
1. Removed Ice cube bin. 2. Removed the 4 screws holding dispenser bracket in place. 3.Unplugged electrical connector for motor and removed the unit. 4. Removed the coupler, wiring connections and three screws holding dispenser motor to mounting bracket. 5.Installed new dispenser motor onto bracket, put on coupler and connected wiring to motor. 6. Installed newly assembled unit put ice bin back into place. Dispenser works great.

Ice Dispenser won't eject ice cubes
I assumed the motor had burned out. I removed the 4 hex-head screws to remove the bracket holding the motor. I had to squeeze the electrical fitting to the motor located in the right rear of the compartment in order to electrically disconnect the motor, since the lower part of the fitting has a latch that prevents its easy removal. Then I could insert a vice grips on the shaft and on the coupling in order to (reverse) unscrew the coupling from the motor. I initially received the wrong replacement motor, but when the correct one arrived, it installed on the mounting bracket easily and I reinstalled the bracket with motor easily. It turns out a new motor did NOT fix the problem, so I'm not sure what to do now.
Ice Maker would not eject the Ice either by cube or crushed
removed the Ice Tray, removed the cover that the motor is attached to, The biggest problem I had was getting the coupler off the drive shaft. It would not tightyen up and would not turn auger. I had to remove the unit and take a hack saw to cut the coupler off The other problem I could not get the wireing harness unpluged from the refigrator, and had to remove each individual wire from its contact. I had to remove the whole motor unit inorder to get the old coupler off.
