In order to to move this cover out, after removing the screws (the obvious), you'll need needle nose pliers to ever so slightly squeeze the plastic clips together that hold the plastic movable bracket and the metal ice level arm/switch, so it will pop out. Once you have room to put the ice stripper in, it should just all snap back together, then proceed in reverse to put it all back together.

Ice stripper broken on ice maker
I unplugged the fridge. Loosened the 2 top screws on the ice maker and removed the lower screw. I disconnected the wiring harness and removed the Ice maker. I removed the plastic timer cover in front. I then loosened the screws on the face of the ice maker and removed the broken ice stripper and replaced it with a new one. Re-tightened th

The ice stripper cracked from freezing.
There was three screws to remove to unmout the ice maker, and unplug the wire harness,then two to remove to slip in new stripper. All took about 20 mins.

Ice maker keeps freezing up - the water in the chute freezes, preventing ice from being made - we have thawed it out a couple of times and the ice is made temporarily, but unit keeps freezing up - any suggestions?

Hi Paula, thank you for reaching out. Based on the description, the issue is with the icemaker mold thermostat, part number PS11743313. It monitors the temperature in the freezer to determine when to release the ice into the bin and start a new ice-making cycle. We would suggest replacing the thermostat to fix the issue. Our ice maker is making ice, but the stripper is only moving half of its rotation, not making a complete 360, to move the ice from tray into bucket.

Hi Timothy, Thank you for contacting us. Usually when you are having this issue you have to replace your ice maker itself. However you could test the cycling thermostat on your ice maker to make sure it is working correctly. If your cycling thermostat is not working then it will not activate the heater underneath your mold to help release your ice. If that thermostat is fine, then it is likely your ice maker that is the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

ice cube at very back of tray catches ice cube and won't fill with water again. I need to hit ice cube to get it out of the way

Thank you for your question. If there is an ice cube that will not release from the ice maker, there may be an issue with ice mold. There is a heater on the ice mold that heats the mold just enough for the ice to release. If it is not producing enough heat, it may need to be replaced.
