The rectifier (also known as a diode) provides the microwave with energy to cook food. If your appliance is not producing heat or not turning on it could be due to the breakdown of the rectifier. This part works with microwaves, microwave oven combos, and wall ovens. This is one of the most common parts to fail over time in a microwave. This part is just under 3-1/2 inches in length. It is a genuine OEM part that is shipped right from the manufacturer. Make sure to use the proper precautions before attempting this repair. Ensure the appliance is unplugged.

Hello Linda and thanks for writing.
It is quite possible that the rectifier is defective you also should check your door latches as they sometimes can cause the same symptom. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime

I think I need a new rectifier for my Amana microwave. Sometimes it heats up food and other times not, usually the first time it's used it works, after that it comes on but does not heat up food. I have experienced on occasion that if I just barely touch the off button that the microwave oven will start heating food up. You can hear a difference in the way the oven sounds then it is running. One more point, this microwave is over 25 years old. We remodeled the house and with that the kitchen to. This is the first time we have had any problems with this unit. We are planning on moving and do not want to replace appliances at this time. Thanks for any help & advice on this issue, George

Was re-heating dinner when microwave made noise like a pop or a breaker popping and shut off. Checked fuse panel and that was not the problem. Unit acts as if not plugged in, no light, fan or any power. Is there a fuse that might need replaced or could it be he rectifier?
