Temperature Sensor Specifications

This temperature sensor, also known as a thermistor, is compatible with various makes and types of appliances. This thermistor uses electrical currents to detect the interior temperature of the appliance it is in and by working with the control board, the board adjusts the level of cooling or heating through its heating or cooling element, depending on what is needed. If your appliance is being improperly heated or cooled, the temperature sensor may be to blame, and can be tested with a multimeter to check for continuity to see whether it is defective. Check your user manual for exact placement of this thermistor and any diagnostic information.

The oven heats erratically, changes about 30 degrees either way. I get a dead short across the sensor pin slots. Manual says 1090 ohms plus/minus 10 %. Is the sensor bad and how is the oven working at all with the sensor way out?

What would be the cause for the igniter on the oven to come on but the oven don't light.
For model number LRG3095ST

Get code F11 on oven. Confirming that oven sensor needs replacement Thank you
For model number LRG3091ST
PartSelect logo
Hello Lori, Thank you for your inquiry. This error code usually does indicate a failed oven sensor, but can also indicate a control board failure. You can test the sensor with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, we have videos available to assist you. The sensor should test between 1000-1100 ohms. If the sensor tests good for continuity, then the issue may be with the main control board or one of the power supply boards. You can check the boards for any visible damage or loose connections. We hope this helps and if you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

When I turn the top oven on the fan makes a horrible noise? Also , it doesnt seem to get to the correct temp
For model number lwd3010st
PartSelect logo
Hi Juliet, thank you for your inquiry. To solve the issue of the fan making noise, first, you may need to ensure that the fan is securely held in place. A noisy oven fan can be the result of a loose blade or a fixing nut. If that is not causing the issue, then you may need to replace the fan, part number PS3528621. The most likely cause of the oven not reaching the desired temperature is a faulty temperature sensor, part number PS11732697, which may need to be replaced. We hope this solves your problem!

I intermittently get the get the F9 error when heating my oven. After discounting the ignitors, I have concluded that it must be the temperature sensor. Problem is, I have ordered 2 sensors from 2 different companies and they sent me the same one which doesn't fit when I try to connect the new one. Both companies tell me that it is the correct part number for my model number. After research, the last company told me that it was found that they (LG) has updated that particular part. The connection is much smaller than the one in my oven and it won't connect. That seems so crazy that they would just change the part so that it won't fit. Do you have any suggestions? I have pictures if you would like them.
