Is this actually a switch (the white part)? Does it have a wire connection running to the top panel?
For model number WTW8040DW2
Hello Doug, Thank you for your inquiry. This is the left side lid hinge which connects the lid to the top panel and allows the lid to pivot open and closed. The lid switch is part# PS11722981. We hope this helps.
Whirlpool washer lid opens and closes, but the spring mechanism will no longer hold the door open so the lid falls shut as you are trying to load the washer. Can you direct me to the correct hinge / hinge spring? Thank you.
For model number WTW7300DW0
Hello James, thank you for your inquiry. The hinge spring for your model does not come separately, and it comes as a part of the lid hinge. Your model comes with two lid hinges. The left side lid hinge is part number PS11731637, and the right side lid hinge is part number PS11770183. We hope this helps!
