My front right large double burner only is working on high heat, is this ps11729102 all i need?
For model number JBG55EK1ES
Hi James, thank you for your question. There are a couple of parts that could cause this issue specifically. You will need a multi meter to be able to test the parts. The first part you will want to check is your radiant element. It should be reading between 0 - 120 ohms to be working correctly. The other part to check would be your infinite (or surface burner) switch. When you remove that part from the appliance, connect each probe from your multi meter to the prongs and then turn the switch to an on position. If you get no continuity then the switch is the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Is this the correct controller for both inner & outer coils of large left front burner?
For model number JB645DK3BB
Hi John, thank you for your question. Yes, this switch would control your larger burner wholly. So it would be able to activate the inner and outer coils. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My hot surface light indicator (part ps1018167) is staying on constantly.
For model number JB645DK3WW
Hello Jerry, Thank you for the question. This normally indicates the switch Part #: PS236754 for the small element or Part #: PS11729102 for the large will need to be replaced. The switch also controls the indicator light. We hope this helps!
Hello. The 2 big burners of the stove overheat, the technician said that it is better to buy the hole set because the small one will do the same in the future. I don't know name of the parts. What would you recommend? I will appreciate. Thank you
For model number JB860SJ122
Hi Alicia,
Thank you for your question. The parts the technician are referring to are the surface elements. The part number listed under your model number for the 6 inch rear warming element is PS8754842. The part number listed for the 2 rear 5.5 inch elements is PS2370248. The part number listed for the left front element is PS11729126. The part number listed for the right front element is PS2321564. The elements are sold individually. If you would like to place an order for them, customer service is open 7 days a week and anyone will be happy to assist you. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!
I received the part this morning but the 2 brass screws that attach the part are not included. How do i obtain the screws? I don't want to guess at this at the hardware store because the part is being replaced because one of the sockets have been stripped. Thanks.

Right front heating element was either off or on high, no in between
Unplug range and pull it out to access the back. Pull knob off bad control at front making sure to check the orientation of the rod the knob goes on—it matters—and remove two brass screws. Then remove the four hex screws holding the top metal panel on at the back of the range (two have washers) and lift the panel off to expose the controls. (I then took a photo of the switch in situ to remember its orientation and how the wires were connected.) Use pliers to remove wires, then connect up and install the new switch, and put the brass screws back in at front to hold it in place. I used the pliers to turn the rod to the correct orientation before putting the knob back on. Reinstall the back panel with four hex screws. Plug the range in and test.
FYI the directions for accessing the infinite switch that came with the range also had me remove two screws under each side of the front of the control panel, but as far as I could tell that wasn’t necessary.

Burners were not regulating heat.
I pulled the stove out, unplugged it, screwed off the top back panel, held the control switches side by side and switched wires out one at a time. Put everything back together and pushed the stove back. Everything works like a charm. I’m a 60 year old female and that job took me 20 minutes start to finish-easy peasey.

The back burner was not providing constant temperature...turn it warmer and it got too hot...turn it down and it would be cold.
I viewed the video available through part-select. The most important thing I learned to do was to change one wire at a time instead of removing the old switch completely and then installing the new one. With 5 wires involved, it was really simple to install and not have to remember which wire went where. I was surprised how easy it was and it works wonderfully!
Range cooktop element would always be on maximum heat no matter what setting was selected
Shut off power at breaker. Pull range away from the wall. Remove screws under and behind control assembly. Remove knob of affected switch and remove two screw holding it to assembly. Remove assembly from range, taking care not to damage screen, as it is held onto assembly by flimsy plastic. Using pliers, remove wires one at a time from the old switch and press them onto the contacts of the new switch. Reassemble everything and turn the power back on.

The two burners do not work perfectly because they are always turned on.
I took off the cover of the stove with a socket 1/4 mm, screwdriver and pliers. Now it works perfectly. thanks.../

Best thing I did was buy the part and repair my stove without labor charge
I'm not mechanical at all, lucking my brother is a retired electrician. He told me where to look for the model number and encouraged me to look it up on PartSelect's website. I was easily able to figure out what part I needed, by reading the question-and-answer section. Located part and number on the diagram and ordered it. It was delivered quickly, and my brother had no problem installing it, took about 5 minutes. Best part saved me the cost of a new stove, labor and the up charge on part costs, not to mention the frustration of waiting for a repair man to show up.

Dual Element control switch replacement
Our dual element switch would only come on 'high' there was no low or medium- or infinite control. I'd replaced the one on our Samsung several times, so I was comfortable replacing this one on our GE. It's a pretty simple procedure but I still reviewed the instructions from other contributors to refresh myself first. It took no more than 15 minutes from throwing the breaker to turning it back on, and would have been less had I not dropped a screw behind the range! The job is always easier when you have the right part, so thank you PartsSelect!
