Center Burner Switch would not generate spark and one other burner would not light.
In order to get to the burner switch you must remove the top of the range. Removed the 2 screws in the front holding it down then tried to remove the burner mounting screws securing the burner holders in place. Of the 12 screws, 10 were frozen. The screws sheared when I tried to remove them. After removing the top, I removed the burner holders one at a time and drilled out the broken screws. I would have purchased replacements but the part was listed as unavailable. I removed the front panel which exposed the switches. I cut the wires of the defective switch and used heat shrink crimp connectors to connect the new switch. With the top off the ignition module in the back of the range is exposed. I popped the old one out, changed the wires to the new one, one at a time and secured the new one in place with wire ties as the mounting tabs did not line up. Reassembled the range top using new #8 3/4" stainless steel screws to secure the burner holders. Plugged it in, turned on the gas and voila all the burners light. What should have been a 2 hour job took about 10 hours due to having to drill out the sheared screws.

Gas Oven will not light
I was disappointed with this parts recommendation..neither part solved the problem, a first with partselect. The Range Oven sensor change out was easy and straight forward once the back lower panel was removed. The SPARK MODULE was time consuming..the module is located and accessible only by removing the range top. Having gas burners requires unscrewing all the burners before tipping up the top and removing it, then removing the guard over the Module is next..it's a project, sure wish it worked when I was done!..turned out to be the oven glow bar....

One burner would not light from spark. All other burners lite with spark.
First I checked that the wire and sparker was working by switching the wires on top of the range. I did this by pulling out the sparker switching it from the back working burner on the same side. The same burner would not light so I knew it was not the sparker.

Then watch a bunch of videos and found this gal to be the most helpful on how to take apart my exact stove.
Go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRGfuhUzEaY

I did not take everything apart like she did. I ordered the spark module and just replaced it following her method to take off the back, switch the wires to the new module, then put everything back together again.

All burners have been working perfectly since the fix.

Turn on burners and none of the igniters spark
For model number CGS980SEM2SS Range

Hello Robert, Thank you for your inquiry. We would recommend checking the following parts to fix your issue: spark module, the spark electrodes, and check to make sure the burners are getting gas from the valve. Hope this helps!

No spark ignition on left 2 burners (right 2 & center are fine) burners work fine when lit with a match. Perhaps coincidentally, we had just finished an oven self-clean cycle when this began. I expect a failed spark module. Would you agree?
For model number C2S980SEM5SS

Hi Sten, Thank you for your question. That would be the first part that I would think of. I would also suggest checking the spark electrodes that are on your burner heads as well. I have linked those parts down below for your reference. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Hello - five of our burners are working fine - the two on the right and the center. The rear left is mostly working, though sometimes it takes a few seconds to ignite. The front left burner clicks, but isn't sparking at all (but gas is flowing, and it will ignite with an external lighter). Not sure if I should be replacing the spark module, the harness, the electrodes, or something else entirely. Thank you in advance.

Hi Josh, thank you for reaching out. According to our research and considering the symptoms you mentioned, we would suggest checking the spark module, part number PS11729094. It controls the spark for lighting the range's surface burners. We hope this information helps!

The igniters stay on constantly and keep clicking. How do i check to see if it is the spark ignition switch and harness assembly, part number ps3510709, or the spark module, part number ps11729094?
For model number JGB750SEF1SS

Hello Laura, thank you for your question. If none of the surface burners are lighting, The issue is likely the spark module, but you will also need to check the igniter switches and the top burner igniters. You will need to test the parts with a multimeter. Here is a link to one of our videos on YouTube that you may use as a general reference on how to use one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWC44fHn0As. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Burner ignitor problem - the center ignitor sparks whenever any other burner is being lit and the rear left burner ignitor doesn't spark at all. Would this indicate a faulty ignitor module?
For model number JGB820SEP2SS
PartSelect logo
Hi Andy, Thank you for your question. Based on what you described the issue is likely with the either the ignitor wiring harness by the valves or the spark module. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

When rotating right side burner knobs to light, no ignitors activate. Left hand knobs function properly.
For model number PGS950SEF3SS

Hi Toby, Thank you for the question. Sounds like an issue with the Switches behind the knobs. Each knob has a switch that is attached to a harness, PartSelect Number: PS8754368. Hope this helps!

GE cafe dual fuel. All gas burners have no spark ignition at all (no clicking). They worked fine last night. Gas is flowing. I can light the burners with a match. Thoughts?
For model number C2S980SEM3SS

Hello Christopher, thank you for inquiring. For this symptom you will want to consider either the Spark Module part PS11729094 or the Switches and Harness part PS2321327 for your model. We hope this helps.

The part # says wb31k10235 its a center cast iron grate. Would it stop my stove from leaking gas when i turn it on. The part got lost in a move. Stove comes on though.
For model number JGB10SET3SS
PartSelect logo
Hello Paula, thank you for writing. The Cast Iron Grate will not be a cause of the symptom you describe. You will want to consider either the Flat Style Oven Igniter part PS231280 or the Burner with Igniter part PS952996 for your model. We hope this helps.

Problem lighting top burners since new. Problem was intermittent at first and never reported it to GE. It's one of those annoying problems that i never got around to fixing. Spark doesn't always sound strong. It has a weak sound at times. I thought it might just be a bad ground somewhere from the factory. Thinking about trying to replace the module. I had the individual igniters out and they look ok. Can one shorting igniter cause others not to light? Do they short out or just stop working?
For model number Jgbp88sem3ss
PartSelect logo
Hi Arthur, Thank you for your question. If the burners are not lighting the issue may be with the burner switches or the spark module and you will need to check the parts to see which one is causing the issue. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
