The cold water inlet valve on your washing machine dispenses the cold water and bleach into the washer in the prewash cycle. This inlet valve has a standard hose fitting inlet and 2 water outlets facing 45 degrees to the left. The water inlet valve opens to allow water to enter the washing machine. If the water inlet valve is defective, the washer may leak, fill slowly, or not fill at all. To test your valve, unplug the washer when the symptom occurs. If the washer continues to fill, then your inlet valve is defective. This part is approximately 4 inches long x 3 inches wide.

Will this fit the wm2650hva model?
For model number wm2650hva
Hello Derek, Thank you for contacting us. I have researched the model you have provided and have found the part you’re looking for is PartSelect Number: PS11728995 for the Cold water and PartSelect Number: PS3527427 for the Hot. Good luck with the repair!
I'm trying to troubleshoot my problem. After running a load of wash, water clears out, no problems. Then if i don't use the washer for a few days, about 3 cups of water fills the washing machine. It's always to aproximatly the same level and it always takes a few days of nonoperation to fill. I'm trying to figure out what to fix.
For model number WM2233HS
Hello Jenna, thank you for your question. This issue could be the water valve itself, that is leaking into the washer after the unit is done its cycles. Its possible the valve is stuck slightly open and is allowing water to come into the tub. Or, the problem might be that water is coming BACK into the unit after its been pumped out. I would recommend checking the drain hoses, and recommendations for how the unit is set up to be sure that the hoses are not kinked, or have moved. Sometimes, if the hoses are not installed properly, water can't get all the way out of the hoses then some comes back in. If the appliance was installed properly, and the hoses are clear, not kinked and set up properly, the issue is probably with the water valve for the appliance. I hope this helps!

Washer leaking in the front. What do you think is wrong?
For model number WM2016CW/01
Hello David, thank you for your question. The leaking could be coming from one of the water valve, the drain pump, or a hose that has come loose or has cracked or broken. This front load washer also has a large rubber door gasket that can sometimes get ripped and will cause leaking at the front of the unit. I would recommend removing the back panel, and top panel to see if you can locate the leak, then we can provide more information on the parts you would need to fix it! I hope this helps!

I just have one solenoid leaking. Can i just replace the solenoid instead of the whole valve?
For model number WM2010CW
Hello Ray and thanks for writing.
Yes, you can if you can find the correct solenoid. We do not carry this part on its own it comes as part of the water inlet valve. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime.

I replaced this cold water inlet valve and I am afraid I might have mixed up the pre wash and main wash hoses. I know 100% that the hose marked 'bleach' goes in the right most port, but what are the order of the other 2? Is main wash suppose to be the center port on the inlet valve?
Hi Javier,
Thank you for your question. We have included a link to one of our YouTube videos that you may reference on how to install the water inlet valve. The washer in the video may appear different from yours, but it will give you a general idea on how to install the valve and the hoses. If you have any questions, please let us know. We are open 7 days a week. We look forward to hearing from you!

Water is leaking out the top of the inlet valves. If i replace the part is there something, like high water pressure, that i should be concerned about damaging the replacement as well? Thanks
For model number Kenmore 796
Hi Kevin,
Thank you for your question. Before installing the new water inlet valve, you will need to check the water pressure coming from the where it connects to the water inlet valve to make sure the correct amount is coming out. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Corrected model# (computer dyslexia!). Should I replace pump and inlet valve if leaking through door bottom? Is one more likely the culprit? Would appreciate if you located correct parts. Thnx.
For model number WM2140C
Hello Jacinta, Thank you for the question. If there is a leak at the door I suggest checking the Door Gasket, PartSelect Number PS3524977 for damage or wear. Hope this helps!

Water was filling the tub when washer was not in use.
I followed the video and my repair went just like the expert showed on the video. The hardest part was pulling the washer away from the wall and getting enough elbow room to be able to work on the washer. I will definitely come back to this site for my next appliance repair.
Very simple. Watched video. Pulled the washer out to get behind it. Turned off water supply, unplugged it. Unscrewed the screwesholding the top in place, slid top back, lifted it off. Used pliers to open the clamps holding the pipes to the valve - one at a time. And fitted the pipes to new valve, one at a time. SOME WATER REMAINS IN THESE PIPES, SO PUT A TOWEL UNDERNEATH TO CATCH IT. Removed the electrical connectors one at a time and fitted them to the new valve one at a time. Did same to the hot valve - not leaking but decided to replace it before it did leak. Reattached water supply hoses and electric plug. Tested the washer cycle to make sure no leaks. Put top back on and pushed washer back to wall. Apart from the testing, the whole job took 25 minutes. The parts arrived on Day 2 after the order. VERY PLEASED WITH EVERYTHING!
First unplug the machine. Turn the water off to the hoses. Remove the hoses from the machine to make it easier. Remove the screws from the back of the top cover. Pry the front sides with a screwdriver and lift. Standing behind the machine on the left side you’ll see the three solenoids or inlet assembly. Remove the two screws so as to take the inlet assembly out. There are hoses attached to the assembly.

Water was leaking into washing machine after the washer was shut off
Removed the cover from the washing machine, the two valves(cold & hot) are located in the read top of the machine, removed the hoses to the valves, removed the nut that holds on the valve to the washer and placed new valve into washer and placed the nut back onto new valve, placed the hoses back onto the new valve.
Figured out how to take off top of washer, look inside for problem, ordered new part, watched video how to replace part. All on line. $65.00 later and my 19 yr old washer is still working awesome.

Noticed water underneath the washer. After taking the top of the washer off I noticed that on top of the water inlet valve water was dripping from it.
I actually did the repair exactly as the video showed. If I would have had the part at the time of discovering the problem it would have been about a 45 minute repair from start to finish. Worst part of the whole fix was moving the heavy washer.

Water leaking under machine
Unplug and disconnect water lines. Move washer out. I used soapy water to make it easier to slide because it is stacked washer and dryer. Slid dryer onto large trash can saving my back. So easy. Make sure it is heavy duty . Removed lid. Removed old part by removing to screws in back. Disconnected 3 wires, disconnected one hose at a time while reattaching each one to new part. That way I was sure to get them back in the right place. Attached back to machine . Put water hoses back on and checked for leaks before but lid and dryer back in place. Ta da!! This was so easy. I am a 57 year old woman and this was pretty simple. I tried trouble shooting by using tub cleaner and everything as manual suggested but it still leaked. Watch a lot of you tube. Apparently lg has this happen with this part a lot. Thank you parts select. I’m sure this saved me a lot of money. I have had enough money bleeding from my pockets with bigger home problems. Thank you.

Just barely fit
Hose connections were shorter than the original part so I had to stretch the hoses to their max to get it to fit. They were able to fully seat on the connections but it was close.
