This is foam tape and it is usually used in conjunction with your range, specifically on the cooktop. Its purpose is to help seal the edges of the cook top to the counter top. Another of its functions arises is if your cooktop does not sit properly. This tape can give it a better fit by adding additional stability. It is black in color and can be used for gasketing, sealing, and stopping vibration. Before making this repair, make sure to shut off the circuit breaker for your appliance in order to disconnect electrical power.

Is this foam tape double sided? What is the width and length of this tape?
For model number JGP940SEK2SS
Hi Cynthia, Thank you for the question. This is not double sided tape, it is one sided that supplies a cushion for the cooktop. We do not have the length but it will be long enough for your cooktop. Hope this helps!

45.00 for single sided foam tape? Really?
Hello Nellie and thank you for writing.
We apologize that our prices are not as low as you expected. We base our prices on what we are charged by the manufacturer for the parts. We try to keep our prices as low as possible but do also have to keep them at a level to help cover our costs. We hope this helps to explain the reasoning behind the prices! Good luck with your repair.

How do I remove the glass. What are the procedures for the electric range stovetop glass replacement??????
For model number PHP900DM1BB
Hi Scott, thank you for reaching out. We have researched the model and would suggest following these general instructions for replacing the glass maintop, part number PS2322203. First, remove the thumb screws from the holding bracket. Use a putty knife to remove the cooktop from the cabinet. Next, remove all the screws holding the top to the chassis. Again, use a putty knife to release the glass maintop which is held by tape. Lift the glass maintop and place it on the side. Apply tape on all the interior sides of the glass maintop. You may also apply the foam rubber tape for extra safety of the cooktop glass. Align the glass cooktop with the chassis and put back all the screws using a Philips screwdriver. We hope this information helps!
