Do you know what the ignition plate ohm reading be for the three different oven igniters should be. Upper upper broiler and lower oven. I think it as follows broiler 109 ohms, upper oven 75 ohms and the bottom 246 ohms. The bottom oven will not ignite. However, I have a feeling somebody has changed all three ignition plates. I want to verify the ohm readings so I know which plates need to be changed. The lower oven doesn't try to light up the plate thus no attempt to ignite the burner. I have checked the control circuit for the lower oven and it appears to be okay. The upper works fine. I just want to verify it has the correct parts. Your prompt attention concerning this matter is very important. My customer is being patient, for now. Thanks Frank

Hi Frank, Thank you for your question. With a multimeter set to OHMS, connect to both igniter leads. On a good igniter, there should be between 40 & 400 OHMS. A bad igniter will show no resistance or continuity. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My burner igniter won't stop sparking

Hello Daniel, Thank you for your question. If the igniter isn't working, its likely you need to replace either the spark module under part PS11729094 for your model, or the igniter glow bar itself under part PS11725182. Hope this helps!

After setting the oven to bake at 350, it will not pass 100 and the igniter glows. Does the igniter need to be replaced?

Hello Mike, Thank you for the question. We suggest testing the Oven Temperature Sensor, PartSelect Number PS953423. Testing the temperature sensor probe on your oven is easy. With the sensor at room temperature, measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. The resistance of the sensor should read approximately 1080 – 1090 ohms at room temperature. We hope this helps!

I have a GE range/oven. The stove top and broil features work great, but whenever I would use the oven feature, regardless of temp, the breaker would trip. I replaced the control board and for the most part it will work but it will still trip the breaker sometimes while using bake. If the microwave is used while the oven is on it will surely trip. Could this be the lower glow plug or maybe just a weak breaker? Both are only 5 years old as the house and appliances are new.

Hello Chris, Thank you for the question. Normally this is caused by a short with the Bake Igniter Glow Bar and it should be replaced. We hope this helps!
