Spring balanced tub violent shake on spin
Washer was on a 13 inch high platform I built for front.load Heat washer and dryer. Removed 3.screws from bottom of front panel and had access to all 4 shocks..front and rear. All shocks were unattachedeither at base or on tub. Easy to install all 3 from front without moving Mach. I figured if 1 or 2 shocks failed the violent.movement broke the other 2. Purrs like.a.kitten now. No bearing.or spring.damage.

Drum was out of balance
Easy fix,
I remove the front lower panel and the shocks where right in front of you , with a little twist with an adjustable wrench the cam right off . I removed and the replaced and it the same when you remove the back panel.
P.S when installing the shocks start by connecting to the bottom and then connect to the drum it will make it lot easier.
Good luck on your repair

shocks showing their age
Overall, the install was easy.
Just a matter of getting yourself to get it done.
The video on the removal / install procedures was most helpful.
The front shocks were completed very quickly. The rear shock required all hoses to be disconnected and the back of the washer to be removed. After removing perhaps a dozen screws the cover was still fastened. You will see (in my case) 4 plastic flat clips. after they were removed the back came off. The rest of the project was the same as the front shocks. 1st time thru so to be expected.
Anyway, certainly a project that any DIYer can tackle.
Thanks Partselect for the correct parts in a timely fashion and the knowledge to perform the install.

Washer shook and made noise during spin cycle.
Shocks are the #1 recommendation for this problem, but they were not the solution. The problem turned out to be broken weld in the stainless tub. Three of the shocks can be replaced from the front, the one under the motor can only be accessed from the back of the machine, which means it has to be pulled out away from the wall. Taking the old ones out is kind of a pain, they don't twist off easily and there is little room to use tool. Putting the new ones in is easy, they just twist into place.

How can you tell which or if all shock absorbers are bad? My washer shakes very bad with every load no matter if small or large loads.
For model number WFW9151YW00

Hi April, Thank you for your question. There is a sure fire way to tell if the absorbers are bad. When you remove the part, if you are able to very easily (with little effort) pull part the two pieces that make up your shock absorber apart. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

I recently asked the question. How many shocks does this machine require.? ( it had only three installed from factory. ) the answer i received: this machine requires four shocks. new question: are you sure about that.? parts list for this model says (3) shocks. can you please confirm. thank you.
For model number MHWE200XW00

Hello Graham, thank you for your question. Most washers have 4, but if your unit was only equipped with 3 then there would only be 3 on your unit that would be replaced. This part is used on multiple models and some take 3 and some take 4. I hope this helps!
