Dryer shutting off prematurely
1. Popped off hinged dryer lid at front and supported to allow access to lint chute
2. Removed back sheet metal panel
3. Removed dryer chute to expose sensor; removed same-deformed terminal on top needs to be straightened with pliers to remove through slot.
4. Installed new sensor; terminal needs to be twisted to ensure solid installation and good ground. Bottom pops in but took a bit of finagling.

Accessing and replacing the sensor was straightforward enough; bulk of the job was cleaning off old gasket material (severely degraded) in two locations. Used plastic scraper and razor blade scraper, then cleaned sticky with goo gone. Installed new gasket strip from Home Depot; available in rolls. I used 1/4" x 3/8". Surprising how much lint/hair/debris was in bottom of lint chute. Glad to get it all clean.

The dryer shuts off before the cloths are dry. Exhaust tube and interior of dryer have been cleaned. If dryer vent screen is scrubbed with tooth brush after each cycle dryer will dry cloths correctly. Dryer only has a timer and no moisture sensor cycle. What is causing the the problem?

Hi Carl, Thank you for your question. There are a few parts that you can check. I would suggest checking all of your thermostats and your thermal fuses. According to your model number, your appliance actually does have a moisture sensor, it is the part that you have questioned underneath. So you should check that as well. I would also suggest taking a look at your exhaust hose and make sure you don't have a build up of lint inside of the hose that goes to the outside. Sometimes that will make your appliance over heat and so your thermostats and thermal fuses will shut down the appliance. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

I've thoroughly cleaned the exhaust vent and replaced the thermal fuse and internal bias thermostat. When i use the "more dry / less dry" setting, the dryer does not heat at all and i smell natural gas. When i use the "timed dry" setting, the heat kicks in. But near the end of the cycle i can smell gas again. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Rich, Thank you for your question. There are a few other parts that you can take a look at for no heat. You should take a look at your radiant flame sensor, your igniter itself, and your door switch. You should be able to test all of those parts with a multi meter to see if any of them are malfunctioning. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Mfg # w10816105 moisture sensor fell out of the dryer. While looking at the replacement part it looks just like what i have that will not stay in place. Is there another part that will keep it in place. The bottom slot on the dryer is way bigger than the top slot.

My drier is getting so hot it ruined a shirt. Why is it not stopping when the clothes are dry?
For model number PYET224AYW

Hello Bill, thank you for your query. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend checking the timer assembly, part number PS11742813, to fix the issue. This dryer timer is used to control the unit's cycles by regulating the length of time that power is directed to each setting. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

Dryer will not start. Belt is good and door switch appears to turn light and timer on and off but barrel will not turn. What else could be the problem other than the motor?
For model number LEQ7030KQ1

Hi Larry, Thank you for your question. You should probably take a look at your thermal fuse, your push to start switch, and your thermostats. Those would be the most likely parts that could cause the issue. You should be able to test them with a multi meter. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
