I am getting e3f5 error code. From what i have read online it is the lid lock assembly. Would that be correct and that is the part i need to order for my washer??
For model number WTW7040DW0
PartSelect logo
Hello Jamie, thank you for inquiring. The error code indicates that there is an issue with the Lid Lock. First try pressing POWER to exit the cycle the machine is in, then press POWER again to release the lid. If this does not fix it, you can reboot the machine by unplugging it for 2-5 minutes and then plug it back in. If neither of these methods work, then you will want to replace this Lid Lock Assembly for your model.

No power. No light, i was told that if the fuse in the lid switch or the switch itself is defective the control board will not power up. But this makes no sense to me because your control board should have power in order to do self diagnostics..
For model number MVWB765FW0
PartSelect logo
Hello Jim, Thank you for the question. If the switch was defective it will not effect the power to the controls. It may not go into the spin cycle but the board will still operate. If the appliance is getting power but the controls will not power on, it is more then likley a defective electronic control, PartSelect Number PS11770139. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!

Getting a code e3 nd f5 Can i bypass by cutting wires ?
For model number Wtw8500dc0
PartSelect logo
Hello Ward, thank you for inquiring. It would not be suggested to do so. The E3 F5 code indicates there is an issue with the Lid Lock. You can touch the POWER button to exit the cycle, then touch POWER again to release the lid. If this doesn't work, you can reboot the machine by unplugging it for 3-5 minutes and then plug it back in. If this does not work either, then you will want to replace the Lid Lock Assembly part PS11722981 for your model. We hope this helps.

What does this piece look like?
PartSelect logo
Hi Brendan, Thank you for your inquiry. The switch portion of the lock is approximately 6 inches long and is divided into 2 parts. One part of the switch is bisque colored and has the cable attached to it. The other part of the switch is white in color. The cable is long and it is grey and tan in color. There bends in it and where those bends are they are black in color. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
