Removed all drawers in freezer. Removed screws from slides for drawers on left side of freezer. Removed evaporator coil cover screws from behind where freezer drawers and shelf’s are. Removed wires from motor. Removed blade. Pressed black clip on both sides and removed motor. Reverse this process and put unit back together. Now fridge works great.

On the door cams. Just remove the top hinge on door. Replace upper and lower parts and replace door.

No ice from ice maker
Replaced motor-modl (part #W10190935) by un-screwing 3 screws, disconnected the the electical plug, removed 3 screws that held the motor assembly to the and removed the motor and replaced with new motor but this did not fix the problem and still had no ice. Since frig was 10 years old decided to buy new one as cost to repair would probably cost a few hundred dollars. Gave frig to family member as second frig as they already had ice maker.

No water or ice
Replaced control bracket this was broken, micro switch did not work, and then replaced filter. Micro switch repaired ice maker. The water was a little more. In back of ref. there was a small panel at bottom. Took off and found water line was broke in half. Ice maker line would probaly go too because of crack and leak. This was where both lines sat in a small cradle. Probaly rubbing over time. Sliced both lines and every things working great. Hope this helps someone else.

Door shelf was cracked, so that it sagged on one side.
I washed the new shelf, took the food out of the old one, slid the new one into place and replaced the food. It took less time than opening the packaging! As for the filter, that's routine maintenance, which my son kindly did for me, as squatting to get to the floor-level filter is not as easy as it used to be.

Replaced water filter #4396841 and water leaked on the floor --- i put the old filter back and still have a leak. Help please --- thank you
For model number KSRL25FTST00

Hi Buck. Thank you for the question, I think we can help you out. I have cross-referenced the model number of your refrigerator with the water filter you have listed, and they are not compatible. The correct water filter for your model is part#:PS11722132. Having said that, there are other reasons your refrigerator could be leaking, so I would recommend entering your model number in our Instant Repairman feature, to determine other parts that could be causing the issue, if the correct water filter does not solve the issue. I hope this helps, and good luck with the repair.

Trying to change the water filter and i can't get the old one out. It is on the bottom right of the grill. Trying to turn 1/4 counter clockwise and it won't budge. I can also slide the outside circle down but that is not releasing it either. Thank you for your help.

Hi Pam, Thank you for the question. Have you tried pushing in on the filter a bit and then turning it? This should let it pop out. Hope this helps!

Hi, i bought this refrigerator for cheap on craigslist, and it had no filter or cap installed.I have a few questions: 1. why have i been able to use the ice and water dispenser without water leaking everywhere? is there a bypass plug somewhere that i need to know about? 2. can i install this filter without the cap for the end? thanks
For model number KSBP25FKSS01
PartSelect logo
Hello Spencer, thank you for your question. If the filter is removed, the water will continue to flow to the unit but just won't be filtered. There is no bypass plug, the filter housing automatically bypasses. You will need to order the cap to install the filter. I hope this helps!

Hi, my water filter went to zero and my ice maker quit working. During the night before I put the new filter in, there was water on the floor outside the refrigerator, but not under it. It looked like it had spewed out and stopped. I changed the filter, but the ice maker is still not working. I tried the old filter but it won't work either. My manual seems to indicate that it needs a filter. The filter I used was a "comparable/compatible" filter while the former filter was a Whirlpool/KitchenAid brand. Is it possible to have bought a bad filter.
For model number KSSC48FKS01
PartSelect logo
Hello Jean , Thank you for the question. It is more then likely the off brand filter. For proper operation and use of the dispenser, we recommend using the proper Whirlpool filter. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!
