This condenser fan shroud assembly is supplied directly by the manufacturer for use in refrigerators. It is a protective housing that surrounds the condenser fan motor and fan blade assembly. Its primary function is to circulate air over the condenser coils to help dissipate heat more efficiently. The fan draws air from the surrounding environment and blows it over the coils, enhancing the cooling process. This helps maintain the optimal temperature inside the refrigerator and prevents the compressor from overheating. You can find the assembly at the rear side of the refrigerator. Signs of a faulty assembly include a broken or cracked housing, unusual noise, and poor temperature control.

Lots of exclamations! Arrived quick, repair works great!
I’m a novice at appliance repair ... never repaired an appliance before. LOL! Repair complete! The difficult part was feeding the wire connection of the part thru a very tight space in order to attach the part wires to the connector wires in the fridge. I attached a long twist tie to feed it through and it was successful!!! The part works great and the fridge is repaired! Yea!!!! I ordered the part in the afternoon and it arrived the following day in LESS THAN 24 Hours! Awesome!

The pin holding the condenser fan is vibrating causing an obnoxious rumble noise, can I just replace the section holding the pin or do I need to replace the whole condenser fan shroud assembly? If so is that unit easy to replace?
For model number GTE18LMHGRES

Should the fan motor be running, while compressor is running, be cause it is not, and very hard to move, and is it the same motor as the one on top?
For model number HPS15BTHJRWW
Hello Patrick, Thank you for your inquiry. Normally the condenser fan motor should be running when the compressor is running. If it is hard to move, we would recommend checking it with a multimeter for continuity. The fan at the top is the evaporator fan motor for the freezer and is a different part. Good luck with your repair.

Fan in freezer is making big noise
What part I need to order?.
Thank you
For model number HPS15BTHJRWW
Hi Bruno,
Thank you for your question. If the evaporator fan motor loses lubrication or the bushings get worn, it may become noisy. The fan motor is located behind the air grille or evaporator cover and it can normally be replaced by simply unplugging the wire harness connector and removing the mounting screws. If the motor is fine, the issue may be the fan blade. If the evaporator fan blade gets damaged or worn it may become noisy. Check the grommet as well to see it is worn or damaged. You will need to inspect the parts to verify which one is causing the issue. It is important to unplug the refrigerator before inspecting these parts. We hope this helps! If you have any questions, please let us know.
Is it possible to order the motor only instead of the entire shroud? My model number is GTE18CTHBRWW
For model number GTE18CTHBRWW
Hello Justin, Thank you for your inquiry. We have researched the model number you have provided and show that the condenser fan motor is only available as part of the shroud assembly. We hope this helps and if you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!
