Only a trickle amount of water coming out of the hot water hose.
Open up the back of the top front panel by removing two screws. Unhook the wires from the old valve, then slip the small clamp down far enough to pull the old valve stem out of the little tubing. Removed the old valve, then replaced with the new valve.

intake water valve not working
I followed the Youtube instructions on replacing the valve. So easy. Turned off the both the hot and cold water. Removed the hoses from the back of the control panel. Removed 3 panel screws to expose the inside of the component parts. Pay close attention to the 4 wires that clip to the switch to get them in proper order. Reinstall the control panel and and reattach the hoses.

I followed partselect repair videos to see how to pop off the front panel and also remove the top control panel. Lay the control panel on top of the washer and leave everything connected. With power disconnected I first checked the fill tube and fill sensor by pulling the rubber tube off the bottom of the drum and blowing in the tube -
... Read moreyou can hear the sensor click on and off. It requires more pressure if you set the water level switch to a larger load. This behavior told me the tube and sensor were working but this must be an airtight system to be reliable. To test for slow air leaks I blew in the tube to cause the switch to click, then clamped the rubber tube shut with a C-clamp. I left it overnight and no leaks - the switch was still activated in the morning, as I could hear it click when I released the C-clamp. I then suspected the fill valve, so I plugged in the power cord, set the washer for a load and started it. The water started filling and I unplugged the power cord, which should cause the fill valve to shut off immediately. It did not - it kept on filling with water, but in this case eventually shut off after 60-90 seconds. Since it did not shut off immediately when power was removed I knew the fill valve was sticking. I ordered the fill valve from partselect and received it in a couple days. Replacement was easy - shut off water, remove the hoses, and then 3 screws and two electrical connectors to swap out the valve. Then 3 screws to put the control panel back on and snap the front panel back in place. Done. Since replacing the fill valve the washer has been working perfectly.

Hi Robert, Thank you for the question. I suggest replacing the Temperature Switch,PartSelect Number PS3499718 first. If this didn't fix the issue you can try the valve, but in most cases it is the switch.Hope this helps!

The water level for the wash cycle on my Hotpoint will fill to the level i set the level at. However, the rinse level will only fill to small no matter where it is set level wise.

Hello Eric, thank you for your question. The rinse cycle always uses much less water than the wash cycles. The most likely cause of the issue you're having is the water level switch or pressure hose. PartSelect Number: PS1018030 is the level switch and PartSelect Number: PS272183 is the part number for the pressure hose. We would recommend checking the hose for kicks or clogs and if the hose is fine, replace the water level pressure switch first. I hope this helps!

Washer will not fill with hot water. Only fills when set on cold water or warm ( but water is only cold when set in warm). I replaced the temperature switch which did not fix the problem. Do i need a 3 way water valve to get hot water?

Our GE washer will not stop filling with water. It overflows. We have replaced the tubing and the switch behind our load sizes. It is still overflowing. Could it possibly be the triple water valve?
Hi Amber, thank you for your question. Yes, the parts to check would be your water inlet valve. The valve can be tested with a multi meter and should be reading between 500 - 1500 ohms of resistance. If that part is fine then you may want to look at your water level pressure switch. Good luck with your repair.

My washer does not fill at the rinse cycle. It is normal when filling initially at wash cycle. It drains but it won't fill back up unless i turn off the machine and turn it back on on rinse cycle.I called GE but they do not trouble shoot but suggested the "triple water inlet valve."

Hot water not filling ,i checked the line for the spigot and it run hot but doesnt run in washer

Hello Shawn, On most top load models with a lid lock, the unit will only fill with Hot water if the lid is down and locked. If the washer is set for hot or warm water and the lid is up, it will only fill with cold water. This is designed as a safety feature.
If you do not believe this is the cause then it may be a defective Temperature Switch.
After wash cycle is complete and washer shuts off water continues to trickle into tub.

My GE washer drains as it fills. Internet research shows it's probably the inlet valve. Do you have any input? Is the inlet valve the same as the "triple water valve"?

HI Russell, Thank you for the question. If the appliance is still filling the valve shoudl be good. If it is draining as it fills, it sounds like a siphoning issue. Check to make sure the house drain is at least 30 inches high. Also check to make sure the drain hose is not pushed too far down into the drain. If it is, pull it out 2" inches. If house drain is not at least 30" high, an anti-siphon clip,Part Number: PS270508 shoudl be used. Hope this helps!

My dryer stops working mid-cycle. You have to recycle the timer knob and hit the start button to make it start again. You can restart it immediately after it stops. No big objects to kick the door open. If you wait after it prematurely stops. You can hear the timer click off at the end of the aborted cycle. Do i need a new timer? Could it be something else?

Cycling Thermostat - 4 Wire part number WE4M181, as well as High Limit Thermostat - L315-65 part number WE4M137. If the dryer is cycling off too soon, it could be getting too hot and shutting off the heat to the unit. If the thermostats are good, I would check the timer itself. I hope this helps!
