Is this what the service manual refers to as the main "PWB" assembly? Does it include the "IPM" mentioned on page 25?
Our WM8500HVA washer was throwing an LE locked motor error, and the repair technican replaced the "motor control module", which is about the size of a deck of cards, encased in hard black plastic, and sits between the main board and the motor harness. He quoted $319 for the part, which seems steep,
