We are getting brown stains on clothes coming from dryer. I searched for gasket. Is that the appropriate part?
For model number 417 80052990

Hello Don, thank you for contacting us. We would recommend cleaning the lint filter, part number PS417841, and replacing the front lower drum seal, part number PS460194. This seal or gasket is the most likely culprit of the brown stains on the clothes. Customer service is available 7 days a week if you require assistance placing an order. Thanks again for reaching out!

squeeking/ grinding really bad
First I pryed up the top cover then opened the access cover on the rear to remove the belt from the drum. Next I removed the front of the dryer to have access to remove the drum. I then removed the 3 screws that hold the drum to the rear drum bearing assembly and pulled the drum through the front of the dryer. I then removed the bearing and proceded to remove the ground ball and reassembled in reverse steps.

Drum loose, causing high pitch noise.
First use a vacum to remove all the dust and lint inside the dryer fraim
Some problims removing old rear drum bearing assembly. Also removing old drum guide bottom Adhesive.
I used a new wire brush, but if I had a brush that fit a drill this would have been better to remove the adhesive.
I then applied the Glue, drum seal and small clamps to hold in place so the glue could dry overnight the next day 30 mins and the dryer was back togeather.

the attached anchors and holes linled up about 80% of the time.
I cut off the four that didn't line up - I suppose since this was a gasket that fit several makes, I should expect this type of problem.

prolonged drying period and poor lint collection
removed the old gasket with pliers (noting where the beginning/end of the gasket was) then installed new gasket in the exact location with very light pressure on each rubber insert point. Voila!!

old gasket was squashed flat, but...
it was easy to order a new one thru PartSelect. It came in a few days and took only 3minutes, max, to pull the old gasket off and install the new one. Perfect fit.
