Verified Purchase
No hardware included
I bought this door handle a month ago and it is still in the box. There was no hardware included with the handle (and I don't even know if there is hardware suggested when you purchase this handle). The handle is beautiful and looks like it would fit, but I wonder how long it will sit on my counter because I need to buy the hardware. I also cannot even verify that it will fit on the microwave because it is not yet installed.

The door of my whirlpool microwave broke off
I purchased the door handle to model KHMS1850SWH0 for around $50; the model I have,KHMS1850SWH1, only offers the entire door as a replacement for over $200. The earlier model door handle fit great with no problems.

Instructions on how to replace door handle on this model
For model number KHMS2050SSS0
Hi Robert, Thank you for the question. The clips holding the inner door liner in place are molded into the black plastic frame closest to the outer door liner on all four edges. Slide a putty knife (you may need a few) or thin butter knife into the space between that frame and the outer door liner at the top, upper left, about three centimeters in from the left edge. Push down while 'feeling' for a clip to release. Leave that knife there, and move across to the next one. They snap back into place if you don't have a knife blade or something similar there to stop them. Once the liner is removed you will have access to the screws holding the handle in place. Once the new handle is installed, gently press the inner liner back in place, holding the door frame pushed together and tighten (not too tight) the two screws on the right side of the frame. Hope this helps!

How do you remove the inside door panel and reinstall the exterior door handle for KitchenAid khms1850swh 0?Thank you
For model number KHMS1850SWH-0 KitchenAid
Hello Chris, Thank you for your inquiry. To replace the door handle, you need to start by removing the top grill above the door using a phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws at the top of the grill then pull it out. You then need a torque screwdriver to take the top hinge screw out, and remove the door. Using a putty knife or flat dinner knife, remove the inner door trim, sliding it out from the inside. Pull the inner door out using a flat blade screwdriver. You should now have access to the handle. Remove the screws holding it in place, then attach the new handle and re-install the screws. Replace the inner door and door trim. Insert the door back into the opening of the bottom hinge, close the door and secure the top hinge. Line the top grill by matching the three bottom tabs with the holes and lift the top of the grill into place and reattaching the screws. Good Luck with your repair.
