Ice Cutting Grid Specifications

This ice cutting grid is located behind the ice maker door. The cutting grid consists of thin, heated metal wires that slice the slabs of ice when they slide off the evaporator plate, creating the cubes that fall into the ice bin. When the cutting grid is broken or malfunctioning, the slabs of ice could stack, and the ice production cycle stops. Replace your existing cutting grid with this OEM replacement part when you discover that the part is not working properly. Remember to ensure that the power is disconnected from your refrigerator before you begin this repair.

Worked, but would have been cheaper if just the bezel and wire were acailable instead of the entire grid assembly.
The repair went as expected, but cost a great deal more than necessary if component parts were available instead of the entire assembly.

Failure to make ice
Unit was failing to make ice as a result of cutting grid fail (broken cutting wire disrupted circuit so no heating) and corresponding ice build up on cooling plate. Defective cutting grid swapped out - replacement part had superior design to OEM and was made of comparable to superior materials. Very satisfied.

If the cutting wire is broken on the grid, is it possible to just replace the wire and not the entire grid assembly? Thank you!

Hi Kevin, Thank you for the question. Very sorry but the individual wires are not sold separate from the grid. The full grid will need to be replaced. Good luck with the repair!
