Would a dryer without an outer door insulator/ heat shield cause the clothes to take forever to dry?
For model number GLET1031CS0
Hi Gabe,
Thank you for your question. Yes it would. Air flow and the enclosed spaces of your dryer are very important for drying your clothes correctly. If air is escaping out where it is not supposed to, you will not get a sufficient heat. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Gotta replace the "Heat Shield Insulator" (Part No. 134535300). Is it a straightforward process for getting inside the door? And are there any extra parts needed to install the heat shield or will it snap or clip into place?
For model number GLET1031CS0
Hello Steven, thank you for getting in touch. No, you do not need any extra parts to install the heat shield. You will need to remove the door from the cabinet, and disassemble it by remove the screws and placing the new insulation to replace the old one. We hope this helps.

Is it normal for this cardboard piece in the door to bow and get rounded from moisture? Seems like a fire hazard?? Why would a paper product be in a heat producing machine?
For model number FLCG7522AW
Hi Alyssa, thank you for the question. It fits between the inner and outer door panels to reduce noise and prevent heat from escaping through the door. If it is worn, you will need to replace it. We hope this information helps!
