Washer door would not lock / run. It just beeped twice.
Unplug the washer power cord. Take the screws off at the top (behind the front panel). Take the bolts off at the back (just the ones at the top). Remove the top cover. I'm going on memory here... Take the dial / knob off the front. Make sure the bottom of the control panel is free so the it's lip does not block the front panel (wher
... Read moree the door is at). There may be a couple more screws to free the control panel. Take the panel off the front of the bottom (just above the pedestal if applicable). Take the screws out at the corners of the front panel (where the door is at). Open the washer door and take out the screws to free the front panel. The front panel is also hooked on brackets, so you will need to slide it up a little bit to take it off. Be careful of the rubber seal, because it will still be attacked to door (you might want someone there to help hold it). You just need enough room to get that door lock latch outta there. Remove the screws holding the door lock latch, and pull it out of there just enough were you can disconnect the wires. Connect the new door lock latch, put it back in place and then put the screws back in. Remember the brackets on the front panel. Once you get that panel back in place, continue the re-assembly. As for the door plunger, there are only 2 screws holding it on the door side. Do everything slow and carefully, and it should work out ok.

Removed the three screws behind the top panel and slide it back to remove. Removed control panel then the two lower screws on the front panel the spring around the front of the gasket and slid up the front assembly to remove. Won't spin or drain. Door locks and unlocks on its own. It spins two revolutions on drain and spin cycle, then stops. It seems like the door switch that i am looking at on your site might be the problem, but it just hasn't gone out completely. I just want you to verify that this is the right part.

Hello Steve, thank you for contacting us. That sounds like it would be the door latch. They can start to fail by randomly stopping the washer, sometimes putting pressure on the door will keep it going, but it does look like it would be the door latch. Good luck with the repair!

Hi, i am trying to figure out which part i need for my washer? The problem i am having is the washer powers up, however when i shut the door the button to turn the wash cycle on buzzes and then sometimes does go on briefly, but then automatically shuts off immediately. The door remains locked and you can not open it. In order to open the door you must unplug the machine to reset it and only then can you get access to open the door. Please let me know if this would be an electronic issue in the panel or if it is the part in the door frame that needs to be replaced? I am a bit disappointed in this particular machine as i have already had it worked on twice and it is only between 5-7 years old!

That is a good question. If the washer is stopping shortly after it starts then you may need to replaced the door lock latch, part number PS1021459. I hope this helps with the repair.

Trying to fix a door latch assembly. The model number on the GE washer clearly indicates that it is wbvh5100hww, but in the search feature of your site it only gives me two options of the above number....one ending in h0ww and another ending in h1ww. which would mine be?

My washer beeps and adds time to the cycle when you press start and you have to move the cycle knob to reset the display back to the normal run time. If you open and close the door it will often start properly. I didn't see any sensor to replace so I am wondering if it just needs the lock replaced.

Thank you for your inquiry. I would suggest testing your door lock to see if it is malfunctioning. I would also suggest testing all of the thermostats inside of your dryer. If they are reading the incorrect temperature then the board might be adding more time to the cycle because of it. If all of those parts check out, you may have to look into contacting a repair technician to come and test your electronic control board. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Is there a way to test this with a volt ohm meter?

Hello Michael,
Thanks for your question. Yes, the door lock latch can be tested with a multimeter for electrical continuity. Replace it if it shows no continuity. Set your multitester to the R X 1 scale. Place the tester's leads on one terminal each. This should produce a reading anywhere in between zero and infinity. If your multitester produces a reading of zero, or a reading of infinity, replace the latch.

The latch on the door was replaced a few weeks ago, old one broke do to having to slam it to lock the door usual had to slam it several times. I then replaced the locking unit itself, no better it still won't lock shows locked then beeps and unlocks what else could it be?.
