easy enough to install, worked as designed, a bit harder to diagnose.
Disassembly of the microwave and diagnosing this part as the issue is not for the rookies. I did have much experience and the part works as intended. Back in business. Diagnosing may be difficult for novices but you can just "shotgun it" and replace the boards one at a time if you are mechanical.

If this part was faulty would the display not light up?
For model number SCB1001MSS001
Hi Tom,
Thank you for your question. The power board could be causing the issue, but the issue may be with main control board, part number PS1018486 or the display control board, part number PS1022528. You will need to test the parts with a multimeter to see which ones are causing the issue. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My microwave works intermittently. It will shutoff with a blank display screen and no internal light. The microwave appears dead. Then, all of a sudden, it powers back up the the “time set” prompt on the display. Will this part solve that issue? Thanks!
For model number PSB1001NSS 01
Hello Brian, thank you for your question. We would recommend testing a few parts before replacing the board. We would recommend checking the fuse to be sure it is in position. Also check the door switches to be sure they are not faulty. If the door switches are ok, the issue is most likely the power board. I hope this helps.

My microwave went totally dead after I used it and closed the door. I think I tested the door switches correctly, and changed the fuse, but the door switch monitor interlock switch intermittently showed continuity (the top switch on the right side of door). What ohms should be displaying if continuity is good? I'm DIYing, and know nothing about what I am doing, just following tips from the internet.
For model number SCB1001MSS01
Hi Lord, thank you for contacting us. If the multimeter shows a reading of 0 ohms, this will indicate that the switch has continuity. We would suggest checking the power board, part number PS1020967, for continuity using a multimeter. We hope this helps!

GE microwave Advantum stays on with power and heating when the door is closed
Is the a bad PCB board?
For model number PSB1001NSs 01
Hi Sam, thank you for contacting us. If your microwave stays on and heating as well, then the issue is most probably with the main control board, part number PS1020967. It manages the power to various microwave functions such as heating, lighting and turntable operation. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this sorts out your problem!

Unit went from intermittent operation to no life. Did preliminary and easy steps of ensuring power applied successfully, fuse okay, etc. However, the only anomalies I see/hear are two: (Power Board...861 appears to have a darkened discolored (not blackened, just enough to show heat burns) substrate board in a bank of resistors just north of the large heat sink. Also, when power is applied there is a repetitive clicking sound in the rear of the unit (relay?). Thinking of ordering the Pwr Board but would like a professional opinion first.
For model number SCB1000MBB001
Hello Bart, thank you for reaching out. Based on your description, it's likely that the Power Board has indeed been damaged due to overheating, as evidenced by the darkened and discolored substrate board near the bank of resistors. The repetitive clicking sound could also be related to a faulty relay on the board. We would suggest replacing it. We hope this solves your problem!
