The latch does not stay latched when closing the door it seems as if a spring is broken . Would this be the part needed to put the tension back on the latch to keep it closed? Thanks

Hello Douglas, thank you for your question. I think the issue would be more with the spring that is at the front of the latch assembly, that connects to the latch rod. This spring is only available as a part of the latch assembly, part number WC17X10013. I hope this helps!
