Dishwasher Dish Rack Adjuster Kit - Left and Right Side Specifications
This rack adjuster kit (Dishrack Adjuster Kit, Adjuster Kit, Dishwasher Rack Adjuster) will adjust the height of the upper rack of your dishwasher. It connects to the dishrack. The kit is constructed of grey plastic and metal, and measures approximately 12 inches wide and 6.5 inches tall. The rack adjuster can break from material fatigue or prolonged high temperature exposure. High temperature exposure can compromise the integrity of the materials. If the rack adjuster breaks, your upper rack may fall down, may be unlevel, or the door may not close. This kit includes the parts to replace the left and right-side rack adjusters and has been upgraded to a more durable metal design (2 adjuster assemblies, 1 left hand and 1 right hand actuator cover, 2 gray adjuster covers, and 2 gray adjuster housings)

The wheels that roll the top rack were torn off. I put my model number in and your website it is telling me that I need this part # W10712394. But I looked at the pics and everything looks metal but my parts are plastic and look a lot different. Are you sure this is what I should be buying? I really need to fix my dishwasher. Pls help!
Hello Tiff, you are right, the parts in the picture will look different than the parts you are replacing. This kit is newly designed by the manufacturer, and it is the right wheel kit W10712394 for your model. By following the instruction sheet provided it will show you how to install the parts, and should be as good as new. Best of luck with this repair.

The top rack of our KitchenAid dishwasher keeps falling out of the roller wheels. The roller wheels appear to be fine, but it looks like the male inserts which attach the rack to the wheels have lost their clips ... so the rack never "locks" into place. Please let me know which parts I need to repair this incredibly annoying problem. Thanks.

When i typed in the model number to my dishwasher on the website, it showed up as unknown. The pieces connecting the top rack to the side rail are broken and the top rack is falling off the track. Which parts can i order to fix this problem?
For model number KUDS35FXSSA
Hi Alisia,
Thank you for your inquiry. I found your model number on one of our resource sites and the rack adjuster kit - left and right side, part number W10712394, you mentioned in your question to us is what you need to fix the issue. The parts were previously made of plastic so Whirlpool redesigned them and now they are made of metal to make them more durable. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

This is more to confirm what the experts have been reiterating. The new, updated, metal part fits well and is much more robust than the original. Our top and bottom racks had problems with the plastic axles sheering off.The new design uses a solid axle core instead of 3-4 "fingers" holding the wheel on. You will love the update.

Rack wheel clip broken rack keeps falling out i order positioner Part number: ps11750093 is this correct part
For model number KUDE20FBSS0
Hi Francis,
Thank you for your question. If it is your wheel that is broken, you would have to replace your rack adjuster kit. I hope that helps. However if it is only your positioner that is broken, you would only need to replace the positioner. Good luck with your repair.

I need new rollers and guide for the top rack. Is this the part that i need?
For model number KUDS30FXBL5
Hi Wayne,
Thank you for your question. Yes this would be an updated kit for your appliance. It will replace both rack adjusters on your rack. Good luck with your repair.
Repair Tip: It is recommended to replace both the right and left adjusters at the same time, as they wear at a smiliar rate. You will need the rack adjuster kit if a wheel breaks, or there is an issue with connecting to the rack itself.

Replace rack adjusters - wheel were broken
Replacement was pretty easy after figuring out how to unsnap/unlock the old pieces. Tools only used to do a little prying and poking, but really aren't needed. Everything either snaps or slides together. Piece of cake

broken rollers on upper basket
I took the broken basket adjuster off and then attached the new one. It wasn't too difficult, however some removal instructions and re-install instructions( or just a picture supplied) would have been helpful. This isn't an issue for a mechanically inclined person, but would be a challenge for someone that isn't. Thanks.

Top rack adjuster on left broke. Wheels part of adjuster
Took apart broke piece and disassembled parts. Ordered new main part but used old clips to reassemble. Part arrived swiftly (2 days), put together and works fine. Saved repair bill and house call. Used screwdriver to pry apart main clip that attached adjuster to top of rack. There were 5 clip type pieces in total and analyzed right hand adjuster as model for reassembly.

Top dish rack falling down because wheel restraints broken
The tabs that held to wheels on the adjuster broke off on 3 of the 4 wheels. The rack would not stay in place when pulled out.
I took a picture of the old assemblies position. Then I removed one side. It was original and held in place by plastic snaps. We followed the instructions on the first side. The metal wheel assembly and the housing have matching channel & grove so the metal fits into the channel on the housing. We accidentally placed the metal wheel assembly in the adjustment housing backwards then could not get it out and broke two small plastic tabs getting it back out. Turns out that was not a fatal error. We had a bit of difficulty determining the exact positioning of the actuator in the housing and how the housing fit to the rack. One has to really look hard at the instructions. !!!A YouTube video would be very nice for this!!! Once we had the positioning then the assembly went together very easily. The two screws went in easily with a ratchet nut driver and star bit. (an adapter is provided for those who don't have the star bit). The second side was incredibly easy since I knew exactly how to put it together the second time. First side: 20-25 min. Second side 5 min.

Wheels broke, wheel axels disolved, other parts broken
Removed and trashed unnecessary extra "stuff" originally provided in top rack by KitchenAid. Followed installation instructions contained with parts. Pictures were poor but usable after studying them. Thanks to whoever developed the replacement instructions - would have been near-impossible without them. Customer service was efficient, polite, helpful, accurate and more than I could have asked. Thank you all
Removed old tracks. Note instructions do not tell you to remove the back stops one each side.... let alone how. Installing new track is really easy. Place the old lock on the track. Strange they don't arrive with a new lock, it is just a plastic insert and must be cheap. The only tricky part is replacing the rack wheels and height adjuster. If the instructions and particularly the pictures in these, were better it would all have been a breeze. Really worth the effort though!
Removed old parts by breaking them with a screwdriver. Insert thr stainless slide. As shown by twisting thought through wire rack the rest is easy.

broken wheel on upper rack slider assembly
The left side took 20 minutes the right side took 3 minutes. The instructions do not describe how to remove the old assembly but rather just assume you have already done it. It takes one minute to see how the six parts fit together and then you just have to begin disassembling the easiest piece. The final cover removal required a flat head to pry apart two pieces held together in a pressure fit with round tabs locking them in. I was worried about breaking a piece in case the new parts didn't fit properly and I would have to reinstall the old pieces temporarily but you just have to keep the faith and open it up for final removal. Installing the new parts was simple however it would be nice if the images on the instructions were of better quality. The result was perfect and the kit feels more robust than the original parts. There is nothing here an average person can't do with a screwdriver and a little patience.

Wheels were broken off the original upper rack assembly.
My husband and I are both very mechanical but found this repair confusing and difficult. No instructions on how to remove old parts and when I called service department was told parts had come from the manufacturer and they had no idea. Like a puzzle in reverse we finally were able to get the old parts off. The instructions for installing the new parts were confusing and the pictures blurred and not much help. I suspect they were poor photocopies from a service manual. That said, once we figured out how to install the first side the other side went smoothly and the repair was successful. The replacement parts are of substantially better quality (stainless steel) than the original plastic ones.

Great combination of webpage and training videos!
This is the 2nd time I've installed this kit -- and it has been a few years. The first time, I ordered the part from the manufacturer's webpage. This was tricky because there is no real indication if the parts you are ordering is actually the parts you need. And then you get the parts with no instructions on how to replace. some pieces are press-fit plastic parts that you have only one chance to lock pieces together properly. I found this tricky -- and I am a mechanical engineer.
PartSelect is wonderful because their webpage shows exploded shop drawings that show how all the pieces of the whole appliance go together. This provides confidence that you are ordering the correct replacement parts. And the webpage also provides intuitive, step-by-step, how-to videos on making the repair.
Thank you PartSelect,
Tim
