Where does the pully go
For model number DBSR453EB0WW

Hello Robert, Thank you for the question. The Pulley goes onto the Idler Arm down by the Motor. The Belt runs on the Pulley. We suggest watching the How to Video on installing the Pulley. We hope this helps!

The belt broke so i bought a replacement but the idler pully doesn't seem to be in the right place...it is horizontally coming from the left and is not attached to the bottom of the dryer it seems. the video shows it vertical from the bottom and goes up and down...mine goes sideways. the belt won't loop tightly around the motor and the pully

Hi Tracey, Thank you for your question. The video was meant as a reference to give you an idea of how to install the belt. Here is some information that a customer provided on how he installed the part, "1st - removed the two screws inside the front door panel. They are somewhat hidden up underneath so you may have to look for them. 2nd - I removed the top of the dryer cabinet by lifting it out of the clips holding it in place. 3rd - removed the two screws (one on each side) in the o=uppper corner of where the side panels connect the front panel. These are about 3/4" phillips head screws. Then the front panel could be moved to one side of the dry. 4th - remove the drum by lifting it up and out the open top area. 5th - add the new belt to the dryer tub (rib side towards the drum) and replace dryer tub to its original position. 6th - reaching in underneath the tub you need to pull the ideler pulley toward the center of the cabinet while laying the belt on the "outer side" of the ideler pulley and at the same time fitting the belt over the small pulley located on the motor. Once that is done, you reassemble in reverse order and should be good to go." I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My appliance was having issues drying clothes, along with being pretty noisy (clunky, and squeaky). When drying clothes I would have to run the dryer about 3-4 times to get the clothes dry. So I pulled the dryer apart and it had clearly never been taken good care of. It was filthy, clogged up with lint everywhere, the duct seal was in shreds, and the dryer slides were disintegrated. So based on everything I read on here, I replaced those, and i even opted to replace the drum slide bearing, the drum belt and even the rear bearing kit. Now it is still squeaky. I did not lube the bearing in the rear, because the instructions did not say to do so. The first 10-20 minutes of the dryer running was like a dream, but then it got clunkier sounding toward the bottom and the rear. I pulled off the top, the belt is spinning the drum perfectly fine. The idler arm on the pulley seemed a little loose but I was unable to find any videos on what it should look like. The motor was clean, and the drum is spinning. The pulley wheel does move back and forth on the arm though and does have old lubricant on it. The back of the machine did not seem to have any issues. I was going to consider replacing the lint trap duct assembly because it had some slight head cracks, but other than that I cannot see any other obvious damage.

Hello Alex, Thanks for your question. The pulley may be responsible for the grinding and squeaking, especially given how loose it is. You may want to consider replacing it. With the lint duct being damaged, that may be worth replacing as well. I hope this helps.
