All that you have to do is slide the old part out that attaches to the cabinet of the air conditioner and slide in the new. You first slide in the accordian part of the extention panels and then the two plastic sections into the rails that hold them in place. No tools are required. well i first had to removed the screws that holds the housing for the selector control switch, then i notice seven wires connected to the switch, so then i removed one to one(removed one connect one ) until i got it all done. then put it all back together, it was very easy.............
