SWSG1031HS0 Westinghouse Washer Dryer Combo - Instructions

Could not figure out how to get into the dryer. Wasted a couple hours trying different things. Found a video online which showed the repair I wanted to make. After that it was easy. One needs to be tall and in shape to lift the drum out of the case....or have the help of a second person. Only a little blood was shed but now feel confident I can replace any of the parts in the dryer if needed.

Removal was relatively simple, and pretty self explanitory as per the instuctions on the website, except for having to actually take sandpaper to the agitator shaft to remove the rust build up from many years of use.After getting the rust off, made it easier to remove the seal housing. Removed and cleaned the seal area and replace with the new seals. Everything went pretty well. Put in the new belt tensioner pulley and replace the covers. Ran the machine at medium load cycle. No leaks, no noise from the pulley. Runs like a new machine. The lady was really pleased with the results.

Everything I needed to know was already on your website. Prying off the top of the dryer (with a big screwdriver under the front of the top) was the hardest thing, since I was afraid I would break something. Only then can the front be removed (taking out just 2 phillips screws). The rest is easy.

I used this website to look at the parts breakdown the only way water can get into the machine is thru the solenoid valve. Ordered valve.Followed the video on how to replace valve.I pulled apart the old valve. The plastic seat was cracked,letting water seep into the machine.

released hold down clips on top and removed two screws at the bottom of the front panel and firmly pushed down on the panel to release it exposing the motor drive assembly and idler tension pulley i released tension on the drive belt removed the pulley from the assembly replaced it with the new pulley including the pressure washer which keeps the pulley stable realigned the belt and replaced the front cover and closed the top. done.

Removed 2 screws at the bottom of the front panel. The panel drops down about a half an inch an can be removed. Remove 2 screws to be able to lift the top up. Used a drill driver to remove the 2 screws that hold the switch in place. Removed connections from the switch. Replacing switch can be a little difficult, you'll probably need someone to hold the top because the screws are self tapping. It takes a little force to get them to thread. Reconnect the wring. Replace screws to hold the top down. Replace front panel and 2 screws. Before starting make sure to unplug unit.

Exactly how the video showed! It was super easy and I am a girl...although I am a lil more mechanicly inclined than most girls, it was a piece of cake!

With the help of a friend, took the top off the dryer, then removed panel with controls on it. Removed the dryer door, and then removed the drum. Changing out the drum support bearing, bearing bracket, ball hitch, grounding ball, and grounding ball clip was really easy with the assistance of an extra set of hands. I put a small dab of high-temp grease in the ball hitch, and hung the new dryer belt around the drum, and re-installed it. Opened up the vent panel on the back of the dryer, and threaded the belt around the motor and tensioner pulley. I really didn't need to change the belt, but felt since I had bought a new one, and I had it all apart...why not. I didn't even install the new front upper felt or lower felt seals as the ones on the dryer were still in excellent condition. I've kept these as spares just in case. Got it all back together and it works like a charm with NO SQUEALING!The parts I order were correct, and with the help of the instructions emailed to me just prior to receiving the parts, repair and replacement was a cinch! Very pleased with the service, parts received, and ease of replacement. I'm sold! Signed...a VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMER!

Never knew I was handy, but I did it! I was reluctant to spend a couple $100 on a repair visit, so found this site and bought the coils I needed for only $26+tax. It's pretty easy. I just lifted up the top of the dryer with a screw driver, should snap open. Then unscrewed the front panel with two screws from the inside. Then located the old coils on the bottom left. The bracket that holds them is a little difficult to remove as you need to have a small philips screw driver to get the back one. But once I got that off, just unplugged the old ones and put the bracket back, then the panels and it WORKED. The only problem I have is that I didn't take the door switch off properly and now the dryer doesn't stop spinning if I open the door and want to check the clothes. So I may have to get someone in eventually.

Follow instructions all most to the letter. In video it was stated to get an assistant to hold static / housing retainer in place to start screws. I put it in place and, used Duck Tape to hold it there while i started screws. Thanks for the deal on parts and, video. I would also suggest advising to check the nylon strips on felt at the front top. Mine were worn. But there was enough at the back of nylon to remove and, glue remainder in place almost as good as new. Again! ''THANKS!''

I remove the drum, and install the bearing just like the instructions in the video.
