Ice maker won't stop making ice and dumping it in freezer bucket
For model number RFG298HDRS
Hi William, in most cases the bail arm is keeping the switch inside the icemaker closed. Sadly the bail arm is discontinued. However you can contact the manufacturer to see if they have a suggested replacement. If they can provide you with a part number feel free to contact us back to see if we have the part in stock. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!

How do I reset the refrigerator after a power surge?
For model number RFG298HDRS
Hi Pete,
Thank you for your question. This type of refrigerator should automatically reset after a power surge. If it does not, unplug it for 10 minutes and plug it back in and this should reset it. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Unscrewed 1 screw, removed panel, disconnected old icemaker and removed it, Added new icemaker, reconnected, replaced panel, replaced screw, & reset new icemaker. Started making ice almost immediately. Threw out entire first load of ice. Working great since! I wasn’t sure if it was the icemaker or the water valve to it so had a guy come
... Read more out ($50) who confirmed it was the icemaker. He wanted $550 to replace it (part/labor). We bought the part here at Part Select for $185 (part/tax/delivery) and saved $265 on a job that took less than 15 minutes.
