Ice maker won’t stop making ice
For model number Rf220nctasg
PartSelect logo
Hi Bruce, this is usually caused by a bail arm that is still keeping the switch inside the icemaker closed. Try removing from ice from the bucket causing the arm to go all the way down. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!

Ice maker doesn't make ice. The tray doesn't turn to flat so it can fill with water.
For model number RF220NCTASG
PartSelect logo
Hi Murray, Thank you for your question. If your ice maker isn't producing ice at all or is producing crescents or cubes that are smaller than usual, it's typically indicative of a clog somewhere along the supply line. A common cause for a clog is frozen water in the line. To repair a frozen line, slide the refrigerator and unplug it. Locate the shut-off valve, typically underneath the sink or behind the refrigerator. Turn the valve to the closed or off position. Fill a turkey baster with warm water and pour the water over the water line. Alternatively, you can defrost the water line with a hair dryer or by letting the refrigerator sit unplugged for upward of two hours. Restore power to the refrigerator and listen for the water supply to fill the ice mold. If the clog is anything but translucent, consult with a professional for help removing the clog. There is also a possibility that the water filter for the ice maker is clogged. Locate and replace the water filter. Filters for ice makers are typically located inside the refrigerator to keep them from freezing. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day.

lower ice maker water fill tube frozen... suspected that the fill tube heater went bad.
Interestingly, the few authorized samsung parts suppliers I found declared that this model did not have a lower icemaker, whereas this company actually had the specific part. The heater swap is completely straightforward, and simple, but for one detail. The insulation wrap is easily torn when pulling the tube out and my time was spent finding a suitable material to patch the hole. I would recommend purchasing a new tube with heater element and wrap pre-installed. This issue in no way diminished my satisfaction with the product or the prompt delivery time.
