Will not start due to engine being flooded with fuel. Choke is in the off position. After two to three pulls the spark plug is again saturated with fuel
For model number PE550
Hello Lou, thank you for the query. An engine gets flooded if the fuel is too rich. If the air filter is clogged, for instance, the engine will not get enough air, and the mix ratio cannot be obtained. The excess fuel can leak into the spark plug and other parts and cause them to flood. We are giving a simple solution to fix this:
1- Turn the weed eater switch on.
2- Set choke to "off".
3- Grab the throttle and, at the same time, pull the starter cord. This might take 8–10 pulls or more. It depends on how flooded the engine is.
4- After several pulls, you will see smoke. That is the excess fuel being burned off. Do not let go of the throttle.
5- When the smoke has dissipated, you can release the throttle.
If the issue still persists, you may need to check the carburetor assembly, part number PS9970517, to fix the issue. We hope this helps!
