This part is a door balance link kit, also sometimes known as door cable or door spring cable kit, that helps support the door as it opens and closes by connecting to the dishwasher door hinges. The kit includes two door balance links and two door balance mounts with wheels, which will replace both the left and right sides. The only tool needed is a 5/16 nut driver. Before removing the existing kit, take note of how the door balance link kit is assembled for a smooth replacement process. It is recommended to check the door springs in case they need to be replaced as well.

Customer Repair Stories

Door spring link broken
1. Open the dishwasher and remove the two plastic grommets about halfway down on either side of the opening. Then remove the two screws under the grommets.

2. Remove the kick plate under the door. May have to lower unit by turning the feet using the adjustable wrench.

3. Make sure you have enough slack in the water input line and electrical wiring that you can pull the dishwasher out about 12 inches or more.

4. There is a spring and nylon rope link on both sides of the unit. Probably just one link is broken, but the replacement comes with two, so you can replace both or save one as a spare. Look at the good side and it should be pretty self explanatory how it attaches. I found it easiest to first thread the link around the lower pulley, then attach the link to the spring, then spring to the rear support, then the link to the door.

5. Reverse (2 to 1) to reinstall the dishwasher.

Replaced Hinge Link
Pulled dishwasher from under counter, attached link to spring, hooked spring back into frame/chassis, threaded link through pulleys, attached other end of link onto door, reinstalled dishwasher under counter. All's well. Note-I purchased an extra link anticipating that the other one will fail. They're cheap enough.

This rack adjuster kit (Dishrack Adjuster Kit, Adjuster Kit, Dishwasher Rack Adjuster) will adjust the height of the upper rack of your dishwasher. It connects to the dishrack. The kit is constructed of grey plastic and metal, and measures approximately 12 inches wide and 6.5 inches tall. The rack adjuster can break from material fatigue or prolonged high temperature exposure. High temperature exposure can compromise the integrity of the materials. If the rack adjuster breaks, your upper rack may fall down, may be unlevel, or the door may not close. This kit includes the parts to replace the left and right-side rack adjusters and has been upgraded to a more durable metal design (2 adjuster assemblies, 1 left hand and 1 right hand actuator cover, 2 gray adjuster covers, and 2 gray adjuster housings)

broken rollers on upper basket
I took the broken basket adjuster off and then attached the new one. It wasn't too difficult, however some removal instructions and re-install instructions( or just a picture supplied) would have been helpful. This isn't an issue for a mechanically inclined person, but would be a challenge for someone that isn't. Thanks.

The mounting bracket is sold individually, without screws. This part secures the upper side of the dishwasher to the underside of the counter or cabinet to prevent the dishwasher from moving, shaking, or tilting forward. The bracket is made entirely of metal. It is recommended to check all brackets, if applicable, because they often wear at the same rate and both may need to be replaced. This is an OEM part that is sourced from the authentic manufacturer. Tools needed are a pair of needle nose pliers and a screwdriver.

Door spring broke-Door falls down
Remove the mounting screws that hold the dishwasher under the counter top. Remove dust cover plates at the bottom of the machine. The machine will have to be pulled out, so turn off the water to the machine. Usually under the kitchen sink. Disconnect water supply and push it out of the way so the dishwasher can be pulled out. Pull machine out enough so you have access to the door cables and springs. The door will have to be in the closed(up) position to do the repair. Usually only one side is broken. Start with the broken side and copy the working side when installing new parts. Then repair the working side. To get the working side apart just pull on the spring and disconnect it from the cable. Do the reverse to reinstall.

This manufacturer-approved Rack Stop Clip is a gray plastic part which can be installed with a screwdriver. Measuring slightly over an inch in length, it prevents the rack from sliding too far and falling off. If broken or damaged, then the rack will slide too far and this is a sign the part should be replaced. It attaches to the end of the top dishwasher rack. This clip can be used for the left or right side, and is sold individually. It is a good idea to replace both sides at once. To make this repair, start by pulling out the rack, then, using your screwdriver, reach in behind the rack stops and press the clips in. You should be able to remove the stops from the track from here. Next, you should be able to slide the track back over the rollers and snap the new track stop into place.

The plastic clips were broken and old
I took out the old clips with a flat screwdriver and popped the new ones in. It took a min to see how to put them together and YOU HAVE TO PUT THE RAIL IN THE DISHWASHER FIRST! It is very tempting to just put the new part in but then you will have a hard time straddling the wheels inside the rail. Once you see how they fit and position them it is pretty easy to put them in once the rail is inside the washer and in place. These are the only ones I have ever had to replace. I suggest that you keep idiots that pull the top rack out too hard away from it so you do not have to spend 17 plus dollars on some plastic pieces to make your stuff work again. In my case I have co-workers that use it so I just put the part number on the magnet they gave me and the name of what it is called so that next time I will not have to be the one doing it. I could have went to the local parts place but they insisted I needed the exact model number and I had the one from the door but they said it was wrong. I was able somehow to use that number to pull pictures and this part from Google search so the hell with the local people I shopped here instead! The actual model # was in fact on the dishwasher where the door closes by the seal on the left side facing the front of it. It is only on there once while there are at least 2 stickers with the other number I pulled from the door in at least 2 languages. You tell me which is more needed..... yeah I did not need the model number as long as I had the sticker one. Ha Ha local losers at Dey Appliance can suck it! They always act like customers are interrupting them when you call or go in. Not anymore!

The rack stop clip on the upper right rail broke. I ordered two replacements and installed the part in about 15 minutes!
I pulled the upper rack out of the dishwasher. I then removed the broken rack clip stop on the right side and reinstalled the new replacement clip. I then put the rack back onto the rollers and voila, the upper rack no longer fell down off of the tracks!! Problem solved and the replacement clip only cost $8.95!!

This OEM gray Dishwasher Lower Dishrack Wheel Assembly is a plastic kit that allows the rack to slide in and out of the dishwasher easily. If it breaks or becomes damaged. sliding will feel difficult. This can happen due to normal wear and tear, and the part should be replaced if this occurs. Check your model number and user manual to make sure this part is correct. It attaches directly to the dishrack. To repair, open the dishwasher door and pull out the lower dishrack. Next, push the tab from both sides and it should pop out. To install the new wheel assembly, place it on the rack and make sure the caps overlap the wire from the inside before you clip it in place by pushing the wheel. It measures roughly 3x6 inches.

This drawer track or rack slider bar is for use in your dishwasher. It connects to the upper dish rack, and allows the rack top slide in and out. You may need to replace this part if your old rack will not slide out, or your old drawer track is warped and causes the dish rack wheels to fall off or jam. You will need a flat blade screwdriver to remove the rear stop, so you can pull out the drawer track.

Also known as rack adjuster. Sold individually. This is an original part from KitchenAid, Kenmore, Whirlpool, Jenn-Air, and Maytag for use with Dishwashers. The dishrack adjuster arm positioner clip holds the adjuster arm in the right position on the dishrack. The most common reason for replacing the strap is if the rack will not stay in its desired position. This part is sold individually. There are no tools needed to replace the positioner.

A plastic part on the top rack of my 2 year old dishwasher broke. Automatic dishwasher soap is corrosive and plastic parts should not be used in a dishwasher in the first place
The 1st person i had contact with wasn't any help choosing the correct part. Paid about $30.00 for the wrong part. Paid $8.00 more to ship the wrong part back for reimbursement. Meanwhile my son went to a local repair shop and got the right part for less than $40 and the repair shop installed the part on the rack for free
