Despite assurances from Partselect to buyer's questions as to whether or not the spring was included on the part that would be sent, mine arrived without it. If you are looking for the agitator with the washer and spring attached as shown in the picture, don't bother ordering this part. I sent it back. In fairness, it is stated that the spring is no longer needed, but the picture still shows one.

Stuck agitator shaft and dough hook
I had a sourdough batch get into the space where dough hook attaches and it got so stuck that nothing - not hot water baths, not pliers and screwdrivers got the dough hook released. I had to open up the mixer following partselect you tube instructions and replacing the parts. What was confusing to me at first is that my 45 year old mixer
... Read morehad an extra screw on top of the shaft that no longer is there for newer models. It took me longer than I am willing to admit to figure that the extra screw is not the result of me skimming the instructions - the original shaft and dough hook went to a friend who broke it attempting to disengage the two parts (the dough turned out to be a very strong form of glue!). The piece is working like new. I preferred the agitator shaft with a spring to hold the end piece tighter, but the new set up without a spring works just fine.
Used the diagram on the website and a video Totally worked!

I am looking for the kitchen aid stand mixer beater shaft complete with the spring assembly installed. New ksm150 replacement parts may not have the beater shaft spring and do not want the part unless it has the spring on the shaft. I need the part with the spring. Thank you.

I think i might be missing the piece to my mixer that the attachments, such as a beater or whisk, attach to. Would this part be that? I've seen a couple of videos online that show the blade attachment locking onto a part of the mixer that extends downwards and has a notch that locks the attachment in place.

I recently purchased a KitchenAid stand mixer and while reading the instruction book i noticed that the agitating shaft assembly illustrated a spring above the attachment pin. My mixer did not come with that spring so i ordered one on line that also showed the same assembly with that spring. I received my order in two days but no spring. Does this mixer need the spring to operate correctly? If so how do i order and make sure that i get one? Thanks brad

Does this part come with the spring and washer as shown? That would be the only reason for me buying it. I know everyone says it is no longer needed but i will not use this machine without that part. There is too much slack and I do not want that.

Does this come with the spring? In your previous answer to someone else's question you said "the part comes with everything as shown in our picture" around early december 2019. But in the customer review dated oct 2019 someone says "no spring....i was expecting the spring as well like shown in the picture" so which is it? with or without the spring? i would like to replace my non-spring shaft with one with the spring. i understand the spring is no longer needed for operation but i'd rather pay extra money to get one with the spring so it makes less noise. please reply... whether this part you are selling comes with or without the spring? thank you. i would love to order one if it comes with the spring. thanks in advance for clarification.
