The microwave door would not stay latched, so it wouldn't come on.
The repair was easy, I just took off a few screws and found the broken latch spring. The real story is how easy it was to find the replacement spring from Partselect! I couldn't believe they had it, and even better yet, I ordered it one afternoon, and it came the next day with normal shipping! Unbelievable! Then I just popped it in and replaced the covers I had removed and it was working again!

door handle broken
The screws broke out of the handle. After replacing it with a new one I realized a cheep fix would have been to get longer screws because in the broken handle there was still plenty of thread left. I ordered a new one from Part Select and received it in four days. You first need to remove the black plastic choke around the inside of the door, I used a small flathead screwdriver then remove the two screws on the side of the door. Then with a flathead screwdriver unclip the metal frame from the door skin. Be careful though because at this point the panel can fall out the back. Then move the foam insulation and loosen the screws. Screw in the new handle and the rest snaps right back into place. I would not recomend hiring someone to do this. Its a 15 minute doit yourself project.

Microwave was making a grinding sound
Problem was easily diagnosed using the internet as a resource, problem was a bad stirrer motor. Hardest part of the repair was the removal of the microwave. Once off the wall, you remove the outer cover and a molded plastic casing directly underneath the outer cover at the top of hte microwave to expose the stirrer motor. Removed two screws and two wires and the old motor is out. Did exactly the opposite to install the new motor. The kit I recvd included among other things the motor, a new inside cover, plastic rivets and even silicone to seal the inside cover. I am sure I saved a couple hundred dollars by doing myself.

Grease & Fiter vents
I want to thank PartSelect for thier assistance with my grease and filters that were needed for our microwave. We just bought a home and although the appiances are still in good working condition and only 6 years old they have not been maintaned well at all. The filers needed replacing and our local chain of hardware stores do not carry any of the sizes we needed. I went on line and found PartSelect.com and reviewed what they offered. I really could not find what I needed so I called customer service and the women on the other end of the phone went through in great detail as to the sizes and quantities I would need. I have since then received the filters and they were extremely easy to install and fit perfectly. Very helpful site. KDS
