I looked at the PartSelect youtube videos on washer repair and the exploded view drawing on the PartSelect web site. I removed the dryer heating element and confirmed the the coils were "open". Ordering was fast and easy. When the part arrived the next day, I installed the new heating element in a few minutes and it worked perfectly.

Easy, took all screws out, took picture with camera phone of connected wires, removed part,and replaced part.

Got parts in 2 days, fast and easy repair.

Sunday, the drum on the dryer quit turning. I could hear the motor running, so I guessed that the belt had broken. I jumped on the internet and searched for Roper Dryer parts and Part Select jumped up. Within 30 minutes, I had a new belt ordered. I received the e-mail with the how-to included and boy did it save me some hassel. I was prepared to do it all wrong until I saw the video. When the belt arrived, it took me longer to gather the tools I needed than it did to change the belt. Thanks

I followed the video on You Tube posted by PartSelect for part #279838. The thermostat was configured a bit differently on mine, but I eventually figured out how to remove it. The video was very helpful, the price for the part was good, and shipment was faster than expected. I will look to PartSelect in the future.

I noticed the door switch handle was flopping back and forth--no longer was tight. I popped the top up and took out the screws holding the dryer vent to the top of the dryer, so I could put the top back out of the way. I disconnected the switch wiring harness which was on the top, right of the dryer sticking through to the dryer door. I pushed down on the tab that was holding the switch tight to the wiring harness. I wrote down the model number of the dryer and the part number. I ordered the part from partselect.com--this was the easiest part of the whole process! I thought initially I would not be able to find the identical switch I needed for the old dryer that I have. It took a couple of days to get the switch in the mail. I put the new switch in the same position as the old one was. I put the screws back in the dryer vent, popped down the top of the dryer, and plugged it back in. (I had already cleaned the dryer duct work--thought that might be why the dryer didn't start. Glad I cleaned the duct, but the cleaning did not fix the problem of getting the dryer started.

Replace the thermal fuse and thermostat.. Really easy

Took the back off pulled the thermal fuse off placed the new one in and put the back of hte dryer back on

To start off I am disabled so I had my 14 year old daughter to help me.I opened the top of the dryer,disconnected the door button and had my daughter help wire the top open and take off the front panel.We took this time to clean out the dryer for it was quite built up with lint.I then gave my daughter my cell phone and told her to stick it in the dryer to take pictures of the area we needed to work on.I then showed her the pictures and explained in detail how everything worked and what she needed to do.I then put the belt around the drum and she proceeded to put the belt on the pulley and tension rod.At this point we are both filty and both have gotten miner injuries.I spun the drum and it and the belt both spun,we thought GREAT we have fixed it,so we put it all back together,plugged it in and nothing.So we take it back apart,but this time I stick my hand in there and find out she didn't have the belt on the pulley,it was wrapped around the tension rod so I fixed that problem.Then I figured out that she hadn't pulled the tension rod over to its proper place so I do that as well.This time I spin the motor fan in front to make sure we have it right.We put it all back together, plug it in and it WORKS,so we throw the jeans in because we have to be at a B DAY party in a couple hours.The dryer buzzer goes off and we both go to check and the clothes are soaking wet.I open the top of the dryer and the brand new belt is broken.So many mixed emotions at this time I cant tell you how disappointed and upset we where.So she took her jeans out and used a hair blow dryer to dry them and I hung the rest all over the house.So I decide not mess with the dryer for a couple days because of my frustrations with it.We have to do laundry everyday,I have three teenagers,so I have clothes drying all over my house every day.Even went to the laundry mat once $40.00 it cost me.A couple days go by and I decide to see what happend. This time I have my 15 year old daughter help me.I completely disconnect the dryer from everything.We put it on top of A table and take it apart.What do I find?the motor pulley is broken and has jagged edges the shredded a piece of the new belt.As I mentioned earlier I am disabled and am on SS so I only get paid once a month and have no extra money so now I have to wait until the end of November to order another belt and the motor pulley.In the mean time there is wet laundry hanging all over my house with fans blowing on it to help dry it faster.So what was supposed to cost approximately $20.00 to fix is now going to total over $100.00.I do thank you for the speedy delivery of the dryer belt and we had A great time at the B DAY party.thanks

I thought first it was the heating element. Because I am 50 yrs. old and have fixed dryers before. And that was always the culprit. But, now there are safety features that will prevent heating. With PS videos I was able to diagnose my problem with a continuity test. After checking all. I found it was one part to the thermal cut-off kit (which contains 2 parts/switches). Very easy repair. I ordered my parts on a Thursday just before midnight. My parts were at my door By Saturday afternoon. Awesome website. Awesome service. The help videos PS offers will walk you through any problem. I will use them for every repair in the future. Thank You

removed back cover and with unit unplugged, removed one wire from each device (thermal fuses and switches) and measured with multimeter. Found thermal fuse open. Removed and looked up and ordered part. Installed fuse and buttoned er up and all good. Hardest part was putting the exhaust hose back on the floor outlet!

watched you tube video. removed back panel, tested thermostat with multimeter-was ok. 2 more nuts to remove heating element - tested bad with visual break in some elements. easy replacement.

I watched several Youtube videos for this repair. The best showed a man taking you through every part of replacing the rear felt seal. I used binder clips from my home office and he used clothes pins to keep the seal in place while gluing it and letting it set. To completely finish this repair, it takes over 24 hours to get your dryer ready for drying again. Steps to repair: you need to get to the dryer drum, watch a video on how to do this to include taking off belt, idler pulley. Remove Drum from the dryer. take off all the old felt seal. take out new felt seal and place around the drum, it will be pretty tight. secure the seal by using clothes pins or binder clips all the way around the drum. this will help you keep the seal on the drum and guide you as you use the glue to bind the seal to the drum. Using the adhesive provided with the felt seal, going around the drum, glue down the seal and re-clip it so the glue gets a good grip. let dry of at least 1 hour. Cannot use the dryer for another 24 hours to make sure the glue dries completely and is ready for the heat. I had already replaced the 2 rollers, 2 shafts, belt, idler pulley and start switch and dryer still squeaked. Then I replaced the rear felt seal. NOW I am replacing the bulkhead because it is worn flat in some places and is warped. I am waiting on the part.

I researched the issue, found a video and ordered the belt, which came in 2 days. It was inexpensive, and I had my dryer back and running in less than 3 days. I did get my son to help me as it might not be that easy with just 1 person (to hold the drum in place while putting the front back on). Great service and great information on how to do the repair.
