switch wouldn't come out anymore and turn light on
Gently pry out switch in door jam with screwdriver and pull both connectors off and put connectors on new switch then push switch back into the hole. Looked it up on the internet and video showed how to and also had link to new part, ordered and less than a week later the fridge is bright again. I have an older freezer also and it seems that they all use the same switches. Very Very easy

No Ice...
Super easy, had my 15 year old do it (with my supervision).
Followed very clear Instructions that come with the replacement...
But, he could not get to the plug location until he removed 4 screws holding the motor assembly that spins the ice in the drawer and moved it out of the way...
Followed the rest of the instructions...
Works like a charm.

iec maker discharge chute frosting over not allowing ice to dispence
Your video was very helpful but it addressed the model as having pull out racks, where as my freezer had pull out drawer baskets. This made removing the back panel very difficult. Secondly while I installed a new thermostat you should replace the temp.sensor as to avoid the difficult removal of the panel a second time if that proved to be defective also. Replaced thermostat and the problem of frosting over improved until the next day when the outdoor humidity increased the ice chute started to frost a little. I then replaced the ice door flapper and so far with the two replacements the the problem has been solved.

defrost would't work on side-by-side refrigerator
My defrost was not working, so from time to time I had to remove the accumulated ice with a hair dryer. I did some research and found out it is typically caused by a failing defrost thermostat, or temperature sensor. I purchase and replaced both for 30 dollars. Really easy. I watched the instruction videos on the site at least 5 times, so when I did it, it was like I was doing for the 5th time. Now the fridge works just fine!!

Refrigerator not cooling and Freezer warming
Noticed that the back panel in the freezer was icing up. Unplugged the unit and let it sit over night. Placed old towels inside of freezer to help soak up the water. The next day I removed all racks and the Bin in the bottom. Then removed the side rails that the bin slides in on. Remove to scews at the top of the back panel ( by the lamp ). Pull out from the top and left side to remove it. Heater is at bottom of the coil, remove/unplug wires at both ends. Then remove two screws holding in heater. Install new one. The defrost timer is at the top. Cut wires and I used butt splices with shrink tubing to help seal the splice. Also cleaned my unit out inside and in the back by fan and compressor with vacuum. All parts can be found on this web site. Very good illustrations on PartsSelect. Also received my parts in 1 1/2 days.

Left-hand drawer slide rail broken.
I took out the drop drawer and the lower glass shelf, used the screwdriver to take off the old busted slide rail, and put on the new one. T'was simple. The dairy door snapped into place easily, no fuss. I used the magnet to keep the screws.

Ice dispenser chute was blocked by frozen ice.
I watched the instructional videos and read other reports first. Diagnosed the problem as failure of the flapper to close due to worn out flapper. I probably could have just replaced the flapper but ordered the crank and spring also. The solenoid was functional. I removed the dispenser panel several times during the diagnosis and repair process. I removed the trim with putty knife one time and I used a paper clip to release panel clips via three holes on underside once. Both methods work. Per videos, I unplugged and removed control panel, removed and replaced flapper, crank, and spring. Reassembled and now one week later, success no more frozen chute. Thank you Parts Select.

Flap in shut where Ice comes from Icemaker to outside of door would not open causing ice cubes to build up so when you opened the door they fell all over the floor.
Simple fix with information furnished online with the Dispenser Door Solenoid Assembly. Unplug fridge, remove selection panel by pulling out gently at the bottom until it releases then unplug the 3 connectors, remove next panel by unscrewing the 4 corner screws, then remove the solenoid by loosening the top screw and removing the two on the bottom, wipe all clean and reassemble in reverse with new solenoid hanging piston over ice door flapper lever first then sliding it into solenoid as you move it into position. Easy fix....$35 hopefully extended the life of a faithful older fridge for a few more years since it work/looks new.

Broken ice maker replacement
Installing the actual ice maker was quite easy. What takes most of the time is preparing the freezer for the install. Need to remove all shelving, (and the door) to gain access to the unit. The ice maker is simple to install once access is achieved. Putting everything back together takes some time.

The icemaker was not dispensing ice.
The dispense cover was cracked and would not allow the blades to circulate, so it would not dispense ice. There was an excellent video on this page that explained how to remove it and replace it. The main trick is to be sure that the ice bin is left out so it will warm and make it easier to remove the parts.

Bad solenoid - ice flap didn't close
The video was clear and the repair looked easy. My only problem was that the trim piece that had to be removed first was very hard to get off. I called PartSelect and ask if I was doing it correctly. (I didn't want to damage anything else) The person I talked to said that they don't provide technical service help but that he'd look at the diagram of the refrigerator to see if he could help me. He was able to confirm that I just had to apply more force to get it off. With the aid of a putty knife I was able to pry it off. After that I followed the video instructions and it was easy to make the repair. Things went back together easily and the problem was resolved.
